Joe Flacco

For me, even if that is a true statement, it is not the right mentality to have. Your goal should not be to settle for a field goal, it should be to score a touchdown on every single play.

I don't think that's his mentality. I think he was just stating that despite wanting to do more, sometimes you have to play smart if it doesn't work out.

la la land

tier 2 my asscheek

he's an innacurate, low IQ , statue who has been lucky in certain periods. He's the worst QBR in the league and he's generally been average to below average apart from 2 years out of 10.

I don't think your asscheek is tier two, that's not what I said at all.

In all seriousness, you've never been unbiased on the topic of Joe so what you say doesn't have much merit for me. It's Joes fault when he plays bad and when he plays well you still nit pick and give the credit to play calling, receivers etc.

He's playing like a tier 3 or 4 this year but for his career, he's been a middling tier 2 quarterback with massive playoff success.

My point is that while we still have him, it would be prudent to bring out his best. We aren't doing that right now, we aren't focusing on what his strengths are in how we build our team and how we call our offense.

Ideally Joe and the Ravens could both benefit from a separation but I don't see that in the cards. Harbaugh would lose his job before Joe would, and that's almost just as unlikely given that with all our injuries Steve continues to give Ozzie and John passes.

if your team has taken the wrong path at the fork in the road, its not productive to say, "you can get to your destination this way"........when you cant

Like Yogi Berra said “When you get to the fork in the road, take it.” But I digress.......lol

Did you watch the video? Look at, listen to the quote in context before commenting? If you had you would know it was nothing like you would like it to be. No, you chose to post it and comment to fit your agenda. More fake news.
You are something else.

I saw that particular quote from Jeff Zriebac, a beat Ravens reporter. I then posted about that particular quote. I watched the video that you posted. I don't really have interest in normally watching the press conferences because they're all the same.

And to be clear, no one really wants Flacco to fail (well, MOST people don't).

If Flacco plays well, that means the Ravens do well. If the Ravens do well, that means wins. If the Ravens win, that means playoffs, Playoffs means January Joe. January Joe means potential Super Bowl.

All of us want a Super Bowl, right? We know damn well Joe is capable of winning one and we know how well he's played in the playoffs from 2010-2014.

I want nothing more than for Joe to do well because that means that the Ravens will do well and that is what we want more than anything as fans. If someone points out Joe's poor play, they aren't trolling you or being a hater. We just know that this franchise has potential and Joe is not doing his part at the moment and I expect accountability from each and every position.

By the way, this is what I want (convenient that you'd gloss over one of my many posts praising Flacco), but something something agenda. I posted this on Saturday or Sunday. Can't remember which.

You should take a long look in the mirror before ever saying that again.

Joe is really frustrating because he's a tier 2 quarterback in the regular season who all of a sudden goes tier 0 and reinvents the position in the playoffs and we just haven't been able to get to the playoffs where he takes over because his play in the regular season has been poor.

I honestly believe that his play would actually considerably pick up in the playoffs if the Ravens could get there, but I don't think the Ravens will reach the playoffs. So many issues with the team I had super high hopes for.

I think it was probably worded poorly, but there isn't anything wrong with taking the field goal if that's what the down and distance dictates, but even if a play is designed to only go for three or four yards, I would want it to break for 99 and score a touchdown.

I did! Joe said the following;

"Ups and downs! We gotta be more CONSISTENT! That's the name of this game! In order for you to win the majority of your games you have to play CONSISTENT! You're still probably going to lose a couple but if you can CONSISTENTLY play well through out the course of 16 games, lose some games that you play well and win some games that you play well, you're giving yourself the best chance so; the FACT that "I'VE BEEN UP AND DOWN, now you're climbing out of a hole and putting yourself behind the 8 ball. So, I DEFINITELY have to be MORE CONSISTENT from week to week.

The way we've been playing and playing right now has been PRETTY CONSERVATIVELY and we're probably not going to go out there and put up 40 points. Verses Chicago, we played pretty much how we wanted to, if it wasn't for 3 plays...yeah, we might not have had a great day on offense but we would have played winning football. And, those are the kind of games we're playing right now. Uh....WE CAN'T MAKE MISTAKES! We're probably not going to put up 42 pts but what we do on offense we got to do well. We have to be able to count on everybody...INCLUDING MYSELF....MOSTLY MYSELF in crunch time to make BIG PLAYS on 3rd down and things like that to keep the chains moving.

And you know....SETTLING FOR FIELD GOALS SOMETIMES IS WINNING FOOTBALL! And, we've turned the ball over in a lot of cases where had we'd been able to KICK FIELD GOALS then maybe the game would have turned out a different way."

at least we can be 100% certain that without cutler we will shellack the fins at home. 4-4 is guaranteed

C'mon now @RayRayRaven. There is NOTHING "guaranteed" about this Ravens team besides how piss poorly the offense has played over the past 7 games. :puke:

You need your Ravens Card to be revoked for even thinking and mentioning this "guaranteed" nonsense bro! :D

I think there are certain posters who only see negative comments about Joe and try to stir the pot that way and posters who only see positive posts and stir the pot that way.

I think that's what makes Joe Flacco threads the absolute worst on the forums.

OK, looked in the mirror, need a shave. I’ll catch it in the shower in the morning. lol

“Many posts praising Flacco”. alrighty then.

2017 joejoe is the same guy 2012 joejoe was, nuthin has changed.

2012 joejoe went on a four game bender that he'd never duplicated previously and has never matched since. He got rewarded for that 4 game bender.

in 2012 joejoe had established a type of playoff magic with a receiver he had also not matched before. our front office thought it was joejoe, but it was much more complex than that. somehow, in our front offices' eyes, those four games overrode the previous 5 years and joejoe got exclusive credit for those four games. it wasn't all joejoe, not even close.

in 2017 joejoe is the same guy he was in 2008 and those four games in 2012. He could still lead the ravens back to the promised land, but not by himself and not without a go to receiver he can bond with and not without a lot of team around him.

You only see when people make a negative comment about Flacco. You never see a positive comment. It's kinda absurd since you want people to lay off of Flacco, but you ignore anything positive that's said about him.

You see it that way because that’s the way you want to see it. You and others just can’t stand that there are people who read the BS and call you on it. Again, criticize and call a spade a spade. Don’t make stuff up like “Flacco has the best weapons of his career, what’s wrong?” “Flacco said he wants to settle for FGs. I don’t want my QB to have that mentality”.

If you want to post fake news then don’t complain when you get exposed.

I told you, that's the quote that I saw from Jeff Zriebac. It isn't fake news because that's an actual quote from Joe Flacco himself, but yeah, I mean, I guess we can ignore that he actually said it because we don't like it.

I do think that Flacco has some of the best weapons of his career (even though I've never said that specifically; I've said he's got real talent). I think you could definitely make the argument that this is the most well rounded group he's had. Maybe behind 2012, but this is up there for his career.

I'm not unhappy with you calling out... what you don't like to hear without ever actually offering a counter argument that's coherent. I'm laughing at the fact that you ignore any positive post about Flacco from posters on here and go on these hunts for people who praise the play of Flacco. I shared a direct quote I made about Flacco where I praised him and expressed my desire to see January Joe again, but we can't see that because it's not negative and that defeats this idea that everyone is out to get Joe.

Who said anyone wants anyone to lay off of Flacco? Just post things that are true and accurate whether they are positive or negative. Don’t make things up just to have something to write.
