Joe Flacco

I was excited about the Maclin signing. Still am! But like @Tank said, we just need to see this cat on the field. He had 1 or 2 huge plays for us and since then...nothing!

It’s really annoying when you go back and edit posts to try to argue. Why not just post again? No matter.

Right, and I said that why? Can you read my mind? Because we didn’t have that on the squad at the time. A dependable receiver that would command attention and open up the field. Has that happened? To be frank, I don’t even know why this discussion is happening. There’s no way to rationalize that the present group is the best Joe has had.
You don't just say that he'll make the running backs and wide receivers better and command constant attention because he'll be a reliable receiver. That's incredibly high praise for a receiver you were extremely excited for. Don't try to backtrack just for the sake having this blow up in your face.

Sure, there is plenty of way to justify it. Again, name me the group that you think was better. I could buy 2012, but again, make a case.

My point was and still is that people will get really excited for a signing like Maclin and give him the highest praise, but when things don't quite work out the way they expected, they blast the FO for neglecting Joe. Like, fans were just excited three months ago about this signing and now Joe is being neglected?
OK, so go argue with someone who is blasting the FO, cause it ain’t me. I’m of the mind set that the Ravens team as a whole has had a terrible run of bad fortune with injuries and guys who unexpectedly didn’t pan out.

This discussion is pretty pointless. Can we all at least agree that Joe and our pass catchers all suck big time this season. And last season, too.

Lol.....blow up in my face? Nothing to back track on, he could have been/could be everything that was hoped, but he ain’t playing.

I tried, but this is pointless and dumb.

You're trying to play it off as if you were only excited that Maclin would be a capable receiver when it's pretty clear you thought this would be a special signing and now that it hasn't worked out that way, you're trying to walk back on it.

But yes, it is extremely pointless that you refuse to see any positives that people post about Flacco and always try to stir the pot when someone says something negative.

If we have a top ten pick in this upcoming draft, are you guys open to drafting one of the top QBs?
Open? I think it is mandatory this coming year. I don't think the Ravens have a choice. In fact, I would go so far as to say they should mortgage whatever is needed to move up in the draft to draft one of the top 2 QB prospects next year. No move is more important. See how that is helping the Eagles and hurting the Browns right now.

For the life of me, I cannot understand Cleveland trading out of Wentz and Watson.

Stupid is as stupid does my friend. I think Ozzie needs to have a paradigm shift in his thinking about the draft. Don't accumulate picks and waste them on players like Correa. Instead trade up for surefire prospects and future stars beginning 2018. Or this franchise's winning ways are finished for a long time to come. We'll in fact be the Baltimore Bungles before Marvin Lewis.

I don't mind trading back, but who they trade back for sometimes has me really upset. For example, in 2012 they traded back and got Upshaw. I actually liked Upshaw as a player, but I would have much rather had Cordy Glenn or Alshon Jeffrey. Last year, the Ravens trading back was fine by me, but they passed on players like Cody Whitehair and Mike Thomas.

I can't pretend to have all the info that the Ravens do or know how the Ravens evaluate talent, but it's really disheartening to me when I can pick out a player who will do well and was well within the Ravens reaches, but the Ravens pass on them anyway in favor of a defensive player. And that's probably what gets me the most, honestly. I don't mind drafting for the defense because of how veteran signing oriented the Ravens seem to be with the offense, but at some point, the offensive talent on the board outweighs the defense.

Well, most in here that know me, know that I'm not a Flacco-fanboy whatsoever! They know that I will gash the hell out of that dude after a piss poor performance. However, I have NEVER been labelled or called a troll. So, I don't know where you are getting that one from?

I think the posters that fall into the "troll" category are cats that show up at certain times to post, drop their trollishness in the thread and then disappear and wait for another opportune time to pounce. That's definitely not me! I'm in here constantly and it's not you! Again, say what you have to say and keep it rolling! As far as Sami? Well...that's Sami. :smoke:
Troll.

:D

Edit: This was fucking sarcasm I wasn’t actually calling him a troll. Hence the laughing emoji.

I just really hate that people who criticize Joe are trolls and then we have people like Sami who only spew negativity all the damn time... and like, really weird claims that have no factual backing.

its been pretty negative for 5 years but not cuz of sami

you illustrate whats bad hoping ravens fan see it. at first theres lots of resistance, but you don't back down cuz you are a huge fan and know the team is downhill skiing. its not trolling trying to get others to see the problem

we haven't been in a position to alter the bounce of the ball because we are not deep. and our backups are way over evaluated.

yes the loss of s.smith has hurt us. joe has marginal rapport with Wallace but that's as far as its gotten

You are missing the fact that Matt Moore is better than Jay Cutler.

no way man. guaranteeing this one just like beatin the raiders

ozze is 65 years old. he is clearly heading downhill. how can anyone argue he should be part of our future?

I dont get the whole "troll" talk, when Flacco plays great he gets his props, when he plays like shit people are going to say he played like shit, having a different or even negative opinion doeant make you a troll, actively trying to upset others makes you a troll. People need to agree to disagree or keep scrolling, who cares what anyone else thinks?

Well if being justifiably critical of Joe Flacco makes one a troll, count me in as one. You know it is quite idiotic to call someone like Mili a troll because he alongwith a few others have been posting on the boards for a literal eternity. You don't call them trolls but instead you call them engaged stalwart fans who call it like they see it. Yet it is only their opinion and nobody needs to agree but calling them trolls? Foolish at best.
