Joe Flacco

JZqVR09.gif

The difference between girls and boys have been getting very cloudy lately.

Has Flacco had a presser since the hit? I don't think he has but I'll be interested in that....

Reports are optimistic that he'll play, here's to hoping the uptrend continues, he was looking good. Maclin and hopefully Wallace coming back and Camp continuing to get involved should all be positives.

Kiko Alonso will not be suspended. What bullshit if this was Brady he would be suspended for 6 games.

i dont understand how this hit was not at least as bad as danny trevathan's the fact that its no suspension not just no suspension on appeal is crazy - how can the league truly be trying to protect players against head injuries when they let hits like that go unpunished even though it was flagged at the time - like there was a penalty there and you could argue the refs should have ejected him but at least they penalised the hit - do we even know if he's been fined?

Haven't seen anything about a fine think they are still reviewing incidents from the week.

slippery slope.

trevathan got a two game suspension reduced to one game on a play where Forward Progress had not been called and the whistle had not yet been blown. the flag came in very late after the zebs determined Parker was prone on the field. the announced penalty was "hitting a runner in the helmet area". (there is no such penalty).

since my opinion is usually challenged by someone here envious of crystalline vision, heres a blurb from a boston globe writer that shares my view on this subject. essentially, the new NFL allows the zebs to throw a flag on just about anything regardless of the rulebook...or to not enforce the crown of the helmet rule, as the case may be. as some argue here the next step is to flag a well timed shoulder, when that occurs we should all be done with this game.

the bottom line is player safety does not matter, because the players are expendable to some. if player safety really mattered joe flacco would not play sunday.

the writers name is Michael hurley. he is one sharp dude...or dudette

Not to mention that Marshawn got suspended a game for making contact with an official. The league is a fucking joke when it comes to handing out punishments.
It wouldn't be so bad if it was at least consistent, which it is really far from that.

Well, it would be interesting to know at which step of the protocol Joe is in. Guessing that may come out sometime today along with a practice status for Wallace and Camp.

It would be great to have all of those guys back healthy for Tennessee and to have them remain so into the bye. Add in Woodhead and it could set up well for a productive winter run.

for the first time in a long time, the bye has come at the time when we most need it and when it might help us most

Yep. If Brady took this hit then Alonso would be suspended for at least one game, possibly more, and probably get a massive fine to boot. Is Alonso even getting a fine for this hit on Flacco? I haven't even heard anything about a fine.

I haven’t heard anything to this point and typically fines and suspensions come out early in the week. Considering this game was Thursday, I’m not sure what, if anything, is going to happen.
