Ravens Ring of Honor
No. He's a 31 year old RB who will be playing his 10th season in the league, and has 3 200+ yard carry seasons in the last 4 years. Ravens have very little commitment to him beyond 2020, and frankly, I don't think anybody expected him to be here beyond 2 years. With most hating our running back pick , does anyone think that maybe Ingram is hurt more than people realize ? Maybe something that would put him on a significant physical decline in the next 2 years ? Just a thought . The pick just seems unusual .
RB isn't a position where you need to "groom" somebody, but I don't see many ways where the Ravens are a better football team with Ingram getting 200+ carries next season. He'll be more effective as the complimentary back in this offense, and I don't think he's an impact player in the passing game either. One of the biggest weaknesses the Ravens had on offense was lack of usage of RBs in the passing game. I expect that to change, and while Dobbins isn't an elite pass catching back, I think he's a significant upgrade over Ingram or anybody on the roster in that regard.
