2021 General Draft Thoughts

I can get on board with that, which is why he might be a SLB in name but he also won't have the same responsibilities as Bowser. I should say that I think he'll turn into a pass rush specialist and you can absolutely find ways to get him and Bowser on the field at the same time without any overlap.
Yeah I would agree. With that being said I still think the front office adds Justin Houston. Oddly enough with Houston added to the front, we may actually have better edge rushers than what was on the field last year.

Oh agreed. And I wouldn't be shocked if they take a developmental pass rusher again tomorrow on day 3 if the opportunity presents itself. You still only have 2 long term options (Bowser and Oweh), a guy who has done mostly nothing (Ferguson), and 2 vets in McPhee and Houston if you sign him. Still long term needs there but it's arguably better right now because the fits would be better.

Judon and Ngakoue aren't in the same tier athletically. Ngakoue had one dominant year, but he's limited to one pass rushing move (the cross chop). I'd take the Oweh with is rookie salary any day and hope he develops over both Judon and Ngakoue with their inflated contracts.

I didn't say Ngakoue and Judon were similar tho. I just implied they were both better pass rushers than Oweh (and indirectly of Bowser).
Of course there was no chance of us keeping either of the former.
Still important to notice we still have a big need to fill I think, because we can't be content with this unit.

i think @Simba is right though - some combination of justin houston and/or a developmental rookie later today or tomorrow adds a ton of value
with the defensive scheme, our edges wont get a ton of sacks unless they're athletic freaks - DBs and LBs are inherently quicker which means that that they can get to the QB quicker - partly why we blitz so much because these blitzers are able to finish plays quicker

Oweh hopefully adds an athletic freak element to our outside pass rush to be able to get home quickly - early in his career it might be more as a stunter or as a disruptor but he has a chance to develop into more

but i think the scheme is helped more by DBs than EDGEs so I guess im much more content with where our EDGE unit is right now

Bold part is key.
If we can add help of some sort it might make a big difference.
I doubt we use Free Agency if not for OL depth tho.. We'll see

Have to record todays draft and miss the live goings on unfortunately. Here are some targets for me:
Ardararius Washington
Brevin Jordan (these 2 in round 4 would be nice)
Trey Hill -- I would LOVE this. sit him a year behind Bozeman and then you get two Georgia maulers at C and LG
Darius Stills - developmental but can provide interior quicks and pressure
Patterson - dynamic RB from Buffalo
lets double dip the edge
