Couldn't see the game. What happened? Who looked good? Who looked bad? Who did SepticEyePoe piss off this time? Is Andrew to blame?
 
All things considered, the field doesn't look too bad for having a few monster truck rallies before the game

Starters looked bad. Mallett will literally kill one of our skill players before preseason ends. Woodrum is beginning to look the part of a NFL qb, competition be damned he is showing pro traits. Won't be long before mizzell becomes the new bohby Rainey and everyone shits on the coaches for not keeping him, OL looked average but notably worse than last week. Defense was shite, bailed out by penalties left and right and generated little pressure and the coverage was being picked apart by cutler

Ill admit I missed the part where Cutler played but how do you go 3-6 for 24 yards and consider that picking apart a defense?

Well he only played 2 possessions and if I'm not mistaken had a fair number of plays called back for flags that had little to no impact
 
Special teams were special tonight, the blocked punt , Tucker recovering a fumble on a kickoff, and both Koch and Tucker kicking well.

The Williams boys, Maxx and Tim, looked better this week. Maxx looked like a beast.
 
I'm still wondering why Humphrey didn't play more. Was it because the coaches wanted to ease him back in after his injury?
 
Just some general observation and initial impressions ;
1)Josh Woodrum should be given a legitimate shot to win the back up quarterback spot. He is calm in the pocket, will stand in, take a hit and deliver the football.
Very nice touch on the ball. Appears to me to be more accurate than Ryan or Joe, ( in an admittedly small sample size).
I loved the throw he made in the flat to our rookie fullback. Released it before the receiver came out of his break at just the right time. Very natural back there.....and he moves well.
2) would hope to see more of a rotation on defensive line in regular season. Also feel Pees went a little heavy, sending six or seven guys too routinely and Cutler made us pay for it on third down a few times.
I like that Miami came out in hurry up/ muddle huddle mode. Probably something we will see quite a bit.

Run defense was stout and difficult for Dolphins to run against. Zadarius Smith I thought looked good early.
3) first team offense generally looked bad...Mallett is uncomfortable in the pocket ...doesn't seem to trust his protection or himself, frankly. Including Stanley with Yanda with of course help, though I've still no idea who our left guard will be. Howard was rusty...hopefully.

Correa missed an open field tackle early...really did not focus on him much beyond that for whatever reason

Finally a concerted effort to involve Maxx Williams who showed what we saw in college. Needs to lose weight.
43 does a nice job finding the ball in the air and defending and we impressive in coverage. I thought better tonight than last week...Very encouraging.

Billick and Gerry Sandusky were just awful. Missing whole plays, referee calls, referring to Woodrum as our rookie UDFA repeatedly and generally blithering in an attempt at jocularity.

No way ought Keenan Reynolds be fielding punts this season. I could go on.......
 
I doubt harbaugh will give woodrum the nod over mallet. It's never been his style. Woodrum throws a more accurate ball than mallet and flacco, it was actually nice to see.

I agree, he probably won't give him the nod. That being said, I'm hoping he gets an opportunity with the 1s next week.
 
Oh, I forgot Tim Williams. Saw him drop in coverage early.
Beat LT later with inside move for a sack. The very next play he obliterated the LT outside forcing QB to get rid of ball early.

This is really Tim's thing I think ; Once he sees he can beat a guy one way, that guy is in trouble. Williams feeds off it and becomes very cerebral in his efforts to get home.

Was Humphrey injured?
 
flacco's got a bad back and they don't go away, I have a feeling he might have the worst season of his career. The guy just doesn't inspire me with confidence. We should genuinely see what we have with woodrum.
