And they're both draft-eligible when we'd save $20 million by cutting Joe.

I have to admit that I'd be down to try to add a couple of pieces around Joe for another couple of years while it's not worth the effort to cut him (WR1, Witten/Kelce-type TE, Yanda replacement, etc) and then go all Leeroy Jenkins and make a Philly-style trade for a QB who looks the goods when we have a better team around this hypothetical next QB. And the freshmen this year are probably going to be the first batch of players eligible for a play like that if we do go down that road.
So, we're next playing the wild card round in 2021?

thats what I'm saying man. Build an offense, maintain the core on defense, sell the farm for one of these guys when it's feasible to cut joe

absolutely - no need to sell the farm or do anything drastic yet - it makes sense to build around flacco still because we have at least 1 more and likely 2 more years of him starting still unless he absolutely sinks

Still? We are still waiting for the FO to do that.

Besides Roquan Smith, how many of the Georgia defensive players are eligible for the draft this year?

Alright someone explain to me how College Football understands what a catch is, but somehow the NFL does not?

Yeah, it may seem outrageous at first (and both the trade ups in 2016 seemed insane at the time) but ask any Rams or Eagles fan whether they'd rather have their current QB or draft picks for the next decade and they'll all tell you it was worth it to get their guy.

Granted you don't want to do it too early - 1) I'm an optimist and I think Joe can still win another SB with the right cast around him and with a little luck with injuries and the like, and 2) selling the farm too early risks turning us into the next Browns by throwing a rookie into the (dumpster) fire and having no way of improving the roster any time soon - or do it for the next RGIII (and I guess the jury's out on Trubisky) but I'd be down for that as a transition plan and this year's freshmen are the first ones it'd be ideal to start watching.

Lookout for Lorenzo carter and Trenton Thompson. Mid round guys, Thompson looks like a solid 5T and carter has an enormous ceiling as an edge rusher

i mean if its minkah that's fine by me and outside of ronnie harrison i dont see any of the others costing a high pick which is also pretty fine by me...
I'd take tony brown in the third, averett is gonna go too early for my liking, he looks like a future PI magnet to me

sony michel again with the yards that chubb isnt getting... obviously bama's defence is better set for chubb's style but michel has been getting better gains inside and outside the tackles today
