He’s not that bad anymore. Now when he was in Denver early in his career he was a drama queen, but you have that many catches in a 4 yr span, as a 4th round pick, you deserve to be one.Does B-Marsh count?
The more i watch james washington. The more i love what he can bring to our team. He is the best pure deep threat ive seen since. Ironically mike wallace and torrey smith. He really plays like a mold of the 2. He sets up his posts beautifuly and lawls you to sleep with his speed like smith did.
The best part is that hes much more physical than the 2. He fights off arm contests and has a violent slap to get defenders hands off him. He locates and HIGHPOINTS the ball. 39 inch vert and a sub 4.5 forty. Tracks the deep ball better than anyone in the country and fights back to the ball! Doesnt get knocked off his course, stays strong in his route, could cause a lot of PIs in the nfl.
Eats up 10 yards in like 3 or 4 steps. Blows by off coverage like clockwork.
CONSISTENT! The last 3 seasons he has 50+ catches. Still averages 20 ypc. Had 70+ catches in 2016 and still kept up those 20 ypc numbers....thats insane production and it hasent dropped off.
Shows extremely consistent hands. I dont have numbers on his drop rate but he looks like a natural hands catcher who keeps his hands soft. Natural at bread basket catching.
The more i look at him. The more i think he helps our offense tremendously. Especially with yards per attempt and catch lol. We need a trustworthy deep threat....
No i think his hands are consistent. Hes not Perriman. He has 4 years of experience and 3 years of consistent production. His hands dont seems to be an issue at allThis all may well be true but the term deep threat gives me the heebie jeebies after the last couple of years - of course that all changes if he’s got great hands but talking about athletes who happen to be receivers makes me nervous when the ravens are involved
From what I’ve seen of him, I like him, but we need someone who can run more than a fly route. We need someone who can run the dull route tree. Someone like a Ridley, who is an extremely good route runner. The good route runners don’t have to have speed to create separation. The more i watch james washington. Thats the thing. He doesnt soley rely on speed. He stems his routes in different way depending on how the defender is lined up. He uses fakes, hesitations, hand slaps, etc. He doest get much attention as a route runner cause he does most of his damage on 9s and posts. But he is crisp in his breaks. He can improve but hes not totally raw by any means. I would like to see him flatten his in routes though. Same with slants in certain situations but i dont expect him to be ridleyFrom what I’ve seen of him, I like him, but we need someone who can run more than a fly route. Agree. He also finds a soft spot in the middle easily and always does some extra after the catch.Thats the thing. He doesnt soley rely on speed. Lol it seems so backwards. Didnt know ridley is 6'2Agree. He also finds a soft spot in the middle easily and always does some extra after the catch.
Funny thing is when I watch Ridley and him, I would never say Ridley is 6'2" and Washington 6'0". That doesn't agree with my eyes.
Varies - some places have him at 6.1 some at 6.2Lol it seems so backwards. Didnt know ridley is 6'2
To be clear, the best deep threat of the last 4 years is Calvin Ridley followed by Will Fuller.
Let's be fair, he is an interesting prospect in his own rights. I'm not sure how he translates but he certainly has some tools to him. There's just no way I'd be happy with him in the first.Ridley runs all the routes.
Washington seems like just another Torrey. I’m tired of drafting a WR who mainly just run the 9 and post routes.
I would not be a happy camper if Washington was our pick. Just tired of the Torrey, perriman, Moore type. Hope Ozzie learns
Ridley does run all the routes, but is still a stellar deep threat. He can get separation deep as well as anyone and make the catches.Ridley runs all the routes.

It will be interesting watching his tape then.Thats the thing. He doesnt soley rely on speed. He stems his routes in different way depending on how the defender is lined up. Hes an interesting watch and a weird prospect to judge. The tough part about him is the fact that he faces big 12 defenses only really. Never really had a matchup with good cornersIt will be interesting watching his tape then.
I agree he's an interesting watch and a tough projection. Combine will be huge for him, a lot of my questions are about whether his body type matches his play style. He doesn't look tall or fast and I wonder if he can win as many balls in the pros as he does against pro corners. That said it's true he does the little things well. Release, hands, adjustment, footwork are pretty advanced. It will be interesting watching his tape then.
Hes reportedly run a 4.4 40 and has a 39 inch vert. Also noticed his traps, shoulders, and arms are all pretty filled out. He has a stocky build. I also read on SI that he has strangly long legs. His coaches said his legs make up most of his height lolI agree he's an interesting watch and a tough projection.
