That's a great point. My concern with Ridley is not actually Ridley, it's Marty. Because I feel like no matter how great he is he'll be a bust in such a horrible scheme, whereas Sutton is kinda "open even if he's not" so Jjoe can always look in his way.
You could also argue that Ridley can gain separation without scheme help and with his insane explosion he can make plays out of nothing. Sutton will catch the ball partially covered on a 2 yard out and get pushed out of bounds just like our TEs lol. Ridley can gain instant separation on a 2 yard out and with 1 step in tight quarters he can turn upfield and make a play.

Yeah that's true...

Fuck it Harbs fire Marty and let us enjoy scouting instead of figuring out the impossible.

So im gonna break down things how i see it. I really think we are gonna draft a reciever in the first 3 round (at least) id hope itd be first 2 rounds but you never know.

Who helps us most (probably): Calvin Ridley, hes the most NFL ready in my eyes. Hes the best route runner in this class and its not even close. Best reciever in this class

Who i want most:
Anthony Miller, i honeslty think if he comes to Bmore he becomes a star. Hes driven to be the best and has a mountain of a chip on his shoulder. Feisty and firey competitor. Best hands in this class. Bonified star and we could be saying 'its miller time' come sundays

Who fits the best: James Washington, it just makes sense. We stuggle to get the ball down feild...period. Wallace isnt the same deep threat he once was and Perriman has failed to step up. Washington averages 20 ypc which is astonishing considering his high volume of targets. Checks all boxes off the feild and fits into our offensive system like a glove. Best deep tracker of the football in this class

What do you guys think?

Washington isn't the best fit simply because he's far from the best receiver. He's too stiff and has alligator arms and double catches too often on the rare occasion that he catches with his hands. I'd take Ridley, Miller, Sutton, Kirk, and st brown over him in a heartbeat. I just don't see a skillset that transfers very well, he's a deep threat and nothing more and I'm not sold that he can do that reliably at the next level

Fair enough. I have bim as a second rounder. I put him as best fit because of what he does well and what we struggle with. Its a perfect fit in that regard

I agree with everything you said about him. Its honestly what worries me, but i still think theres a chance he can be a great deep threat in this league. However, the points you made give me pause. I want to like him

Love to end up with Sutton(I think Ridley is out of our reach) and Miller.

I’m not sure he is the best fit at all - he is eerily similar to perriman in that he makes his pay going deep down field and has questionable hands - the ravens need a big body who can control the middle of the field and box out on the outside and make contested catches

Marty: "Oh yeah, and he'd catch all of those 1 yard flats I'd throw at him! Our offense would kick so much ass!!!"

I mean literally no receiver is going to be successful with Marty still here - if they are quick they’ll disappear in his scheme like perriman and Wallace and if they are big then they’ll be used only on 1 yard outs and definitely not in the slot and if they are shifty he’ll send them on go routes out of the slot but never any intermediate stuff

Double dip with Sutton in the first, miller in the 2nd? Will Ozzie do such a thing? One can only dream

I truly think if we had a real OC we'd be 7-3 or something.

Courtland Sutton made some amazing grabs against Tulane. I hope he’s there in the mid-teens / 20s.

You I want to love Miller but I'm seeing too much easy drops. Sure he can make highlight reel catches but a lot of short passes were let go of.
