Quarterback thread

Do the browns go defense with one of their picks? It just feels like they’re going to get barkley. What better way to help a young QB out than giving him a stud running back? If Allen was their qb target, draft barkley 1st overall, and Allen should still be there at 4
They can get really good RB in 2nd, they have 2 picks in second round as well. Good D is what helps QBs, too. They'd be crazy not to draft Fitzpatrick at #4

Suppose this is relevant here:

Darnold
Rosen
Mayfield
Jackson
Allen

If only 1 is left when we pick a team like buffalo with 2 1sts 2 2nds and 2 3rds may be offer us a good deal to trade back

So, in about three years when Flacco is gone, could we please grab Tua Tagovailoa?
This recent season's freshmen are probably the first batch of QBs we should be looking at seriously as replacements. I'd prefer to see us continue to build around Joe in the meantime to 1) try get the best out of him; 2) help our next guy hit the ground running. And, just putting it out there, I'd be open to going Leeroy Jenkins and giving up an Eagles-style haul to get a guy we like enough.

This is probably for the "way too early for the way too early prospects" threads, but who else figures to be in the picture come 2020 or 2021?

Johnny Football. Rehabilitated.

say lamar jackson falls to the 2nd, would you want us to, and do you think there is any chance, that we pull the trigger?

i dont think its likely, but theres a chance, and if he is there, id probably scream at the tv for us to take him unless ant miller or mark anthony is there, i think lamar jackson is gonna be good and it would be awesome to see such a change at qb for the ravens when he takes over

I doubt he makes it to the 2nd round. But if he did id love for him to be our pick. And it’d be really nice to be able to groom him for a few years, especially with our new QB coach having experience working with guys like Vick and Mcnabb

im not sure - id be more into trading back to a team's spot that wants him badly - im not that big of a fan of lamar jackson as a qb in the pros - it also depends on who's left on the board

now see, i think jackson has all the tools, he seems to force throws sometimes, but i think he does have the arm to force throws on occasion, he just needs to have some patience and not do it often. basically better decision making in general, but he wasnt terrible in that regard either, just showed some bonehead throws here and there, no more often than joe shows us lol.

if he can go through his progressions rather than tucking and running after one read, scramble with his eyes downfield, and save the tuck and run for heavy pressure/no open targets, then he should be good. i need to take a much closer look at him and try to get a better read on his mental aspect, but hes an exciting prospect and i think he has a real chance to be very good.

with lamar jackson i see the tucking and running as a serious issue - his natural mental process means he bales out way too early (which is fixable) but what i worry about is that he scrambles to run not to pass (and i think the clearest indicator of why i think he'll fail is looking at the difference in scrambling with him and mayfield) - im not the biggest fan of the way he reads the field beyond that as well which unnerves me if we were gonna spend a high pick on him

i also worry about his frame - he doesnt have much room to pack much more size onto his frame (he's lanky) and im not sure how he'll stand up to the hits he'll take as a scrambling qb

if im honest id be really worried about taking jackson before round 3 with the tape ive studied so far and in all likelihood he's gone in the 1st or early 2nd so its not gonna be an issue anyway but he's gonna be a prospect that i dont really want to touch as a ravens fan because i think he's gonna get severely overdrafted and he's a huge risk as a pick
