2018 Free Agency

Adams has already been extended 58m over 4 yrs
Well fuck. Now we have to overpay Landry or Robinson.

"But we don't want them"..

WE HAVE NO CHOICE. NONE. We need someone back there who is reliable. Wallace is a nice deep threat, he demands safety attention. He's not overly reliable.

Fucking Ozzie. If he doesn't fix this offense this offseason, particuarly the line, he and Decosta BOTH need to be fired. I've had it up to here with coming this close and missing.

Which makes me think we have seen the last of Mallette. At the end or pre season most likely.

mallet was already a free agent who we might re-sign but i want a different qb in the house - i kind of want a day 3 developmental draft pick in the building - there's definitely a couple that i like the look of (having not gone full blown into the film yet)

i think its a possibility we could carry 3 qbs next year but i absolutely do not think it will be josh woodrum...

Why not Woodrum ?

I agree we will have at least three heading into camp. After that two on roster one on PS.
Remember when it was Boller, Smith and Flacco.
In the span of a coupla days one guy got hurt, another got very sick and the third, a year one rookie got the start. That was crazy.

because woodrum isnt a good qb - we saw that through preseason or did everyone just forget how he doesnt have the arm strength to throw outside the numbers vs starting defensive type players

if 3 qbs are in the top 53 players on the roster then we should carry 3 in the season

But for real- Orr allowed over 600 yards in coverage and the second most by a linebacker in all of football, so I'd hardly call him a sure thing in coverage.
This encompasses my general thoughts on Orr. I thought that he was perhaps slightly better in coverage than the numbers indicated, but that obviously doesn't say much. At best, he was passable in that facet. In Mosley's case, I would wager that he's spent the majority of his snaps in zone coverage, at least over the last several games. We would routinely drop him in the middle past the hook zone almost to the middle third, and this happened in every game we've played down the stretch that I've had the chance to review. The depth of our drops was consistently difficult to comprehend. Take a look at these drops for Patrick Onwuasor, Mosley and Matthew Judon (Link). Our closest defender is over 5 yards beyond the sticks, resulting in an easy scramble, and that's Brandon Carr, This is something I will not miss with the departure of Dean Pees.

yeah id be ok with a bit of a change of philosophy on defence in certain situations - id like to see bowser in man coverage maybe, cj in shallower drops, different usage of personnel etc. not hugely significant things but slight changes - i'd like somebody from outside the building to come in just because id like an objective viewpoint of our defence unaffected by already being in the system

And TWill in obvious passing downs

I would SO be down for Crabtree. He’s exactly what we need. We can’t afford the younger guys. Draft a WR in round 2 or 3 and sign Crabtree.

only thing that worries me is that we play the broncos next year and talib and crabtree will probably have another fight

EXACTLY what we need?? Expectations aren't very high there dude. Then the offense will be more of the same with over the hill declining receivers. Need to find a way to to sign Robinson, Lee or Richardsonc C CCJ. ZhvvX. Z hCZbj nczhx. hC . Even Watkins is somebody whose best football could be yet to come. A high pick receiver could be couple yrs b4 he is up to speed. All these over the hill vets is explanation of all the wasted money against the cap every year. Next up is Weddle will be restructured and move his money back. Ravens don't know how to bring in the 23 yr old version of an Eric Weddle or Mike Wallace. Only know how to restructure to keep them around. It is like management has no confidence in its skill to bring in young talent to replace Weddle, SS, Watson its like the fan base knows the best it can hope for cuz it knows its management. Pathetic!!

Mallet is terrible though for sure. like he is not even close to being a decent qb
