2018 Free Agency

I wouldn’t mind throwing the Dolphins a 3rd rounder for him and pay him like ~12 million. I’d really be okay with that if we had 2 3rd round picks...but losing our only 3rd would be tough. On one hand you’re getting a proven guy who runs great routes and has great hands, but on the other hand if we keep the 3rd we could draft a WR with the pick and only have to pay him pennies on the dollar compared to Landry but still having to pay a WR in FA; but then still running the risk of the pick not working out and the 3rd rounder being wasted anyway.

It’s really dependent on whether our FO can be trusted to draft receivers lol
To be honest I would be way okay giving a 3rd and maybe even a 2nd if the Ravens can get Landry on $11-12 a year for 3+ years. The Ravens have shown over the years they aren't interested in going back to the deep ball. Landry has proven to get around 100 receptions a year in a terrible offense with no other weapons. He is that guy to get open and get 7-8 yards which is what this team has needed for awhile. The team cannot find wide receivers that aren't already proven elsewhere. I mean would I rather give a 2nd for Landry a guy who has been proven for years and get him extended for a sure thing or an unknown draft guy who can either be a solid #2 in the team's offense or can completely never play a game ever. Landry is young and fits exactly the offense they are running right now and would probably be the only person to fit in the offensive scheme if the season started today.

If they were going to cut him in a year or two they wouldn’t extend him. He is one of the better overall linebackers in this league. I agree he had a down year but he was playing through injury. He was better in coverage last year. (2016)
While Mosley doesn't flash like Lewis did back in the day or like Kuechly does now... He is still one of the best linebackers in the league and would be a huge blow to the defense. When he isn't in the lineup it has that Brandon Williams or Jimmy Smith effect where the team completely collapse. Those are the three pillars on the team. He also does a lot of the underrated things on defense to open up for players such as Peanut, Correa, and even Orr last season. That season between Lewis and Mosley was probably the worst linebacker play the team has ever seen. And I think he would shine more if the team had a better option next to him that allowed him to move around more freely.

Everyone hates on Landry because he had 8.8 yards a catch this season but if anyone watched the Dolphins they’d realize it’s because of horrific QB play. Jay Cutler could barely hit the ground at his feet. The season prior, pretty much the only year he had a decent QB, when Tannehill played not half bad, he averaged 12 yards a catch and over 1100 yards. AND he catches around 70% of his passes every year. That’s great. He’s not a deep threat but he’s not just a guy that only averages 8 yards a catch. Give him a better QB and he will shine. AND he’s durable as hell. Sign me up.

Via Bleacher Report, Ravens and Bears in talks to trade Miami Dolphins for Jarvis Landry

Rotoworld says there are 5 teams discussing trading for Landry. I've heard the 49ers and Panthers backed out and balked at how much he wanted in a contract. I feel like we are competing with the Bears, Browns and I'm thinking Arizona as the third team.

Why Arizona? I haven't heard that one yet.

Third rounder and the right player might do it . Cleveland has upper hand so far as making a trade that's most appealing if you are Miami.
Giving over one of their three second rounders for Landry is an easy decision

Agreed that the combo of endless cap space for a long term deal and a number of picks makes the Browns the obvious suitor but they'll find a way to mess it up.

Hypothetically, if we were do give a pick and a player, what would our potential package look like?

Giving a 3rd to a team that will have to cut Landry is much too much

Dont Know...keep reading a three would work.

I remember this shot. Nice find....He's always felt a Raven type player.
Those guys always seem to find their way here. Ravens types always flock here at some point. Like our 3 major free agent receivers, Kelly Gregg, Daryl smith, eric weddle, tony Jefferson, hell Mosley and jimmy and Torrey too through the draft, all 3 of those guys were linked to us for months and Mosley was a guy I was praying for from 2 years prior. It's like a magnetic attraction, certain guys that "feel" like they were meant to be ravens(tough, smart, workers, tryhards, etc.) often seem to gravitate here, coincidence or do we just have some weird aura around us?
