2018 Free Agency

Kiser is better IMO.

He did an entire short video on it and explained why he isn't going to play on the tag. Him signing the tag was the only way that would facilitate a trade.

I think the problem was that we never imagined that Cleveland would actually take the gamble and trade for a guy on a 1YR deal. I didn't anticipate that. I just had two issues, us picking higher than Cleveland or Chicago, or the 2nd issue which was getting a deal done. Outside of that I felt confident since I didn't think giving up draft picks was an issue, the only problem was Miami wanting to pick higher.

That’s interesting either way then... I wonder if his attitude to a long term contract changed when he realised it was Cleveland he was heading to or whether it was just misreporting and he’s gonna sign a long term deal anyway

Going to the Browns could be good for Landry financially. They have fuckloads of cap space and if he does well enough there they may overpay him on a long term contract out of desperation. If not, he can to some other team after being overpaid for a season.

Dennis Pitta averaged 8.5 yds. per catch in 2016, while pretty much falling down after every catch. Landry averaged 8.8 yards per catch last year. The guy is sure handed, no doubt. But he ain’t all that.
I’m so sick of hearing about his 8.8 ypc. Watch a few Dolphins games this season and then talk to me about Landry. But until seeing how absolutely horrible Cutler was, you can’t speak on the matter.
I think concerns over his low YPC are legit, but I went back to the College tape and I saw a guy who was attacking the ball and making plays deep. I think Miami just has not put him in a lot of deep yardage situations honestly. I think Miami is reluctant to move him deep because of the lack of deep speed, but when you look at his college tape then it feels like you're looking at a different player entirely.

His QBs were Tannehil and Cutler. A noodle arm and an inaccurate cannon. Do you blame them lol?
Ding ding ding!!! Here’s two people that understand why Landry only averages 10 ypc for his career. He averaged 12 in Tannehills best (yet average) season.

For example, this season Devante Parker averaged 11 yards per catch. Kenny Stills averaged 14 as opposed to 17 the year prior. They were extremely limited by their QB play this season. Jay Cutler had one of the worst seasons by a QB in recent memory.

Fuck off with the 8.8 ypc bullshit. I promise you Landry will be much better with Tyrod.

I wanted to take a step back from the situation and think it all out. Needless to say, I’m still so fucking pissed. Fuck our front office. There’s no way we can win a bidding war for AR or Sammy Watkins. We’re gonna get another stopgap bandaid. Oh, and Marty is still calling the plays fucking lovely

All I’m saying is we better get at least 2 WRs in the first 4 rounds of this draft or I’ll be upset. A WR and a TE would also be acceptable.

We're in trouble. I haven't bothered really reading about our offseason as we are destined to be the worst team in the AFC north.

All the other teams can realistically fill holes based on draft and cap space. We can't unless we hit the greatest draft in ravens history. News flash, we aint..

Browns could be the best team talent wise by end of the year and finally have a QB who at worst is as good as flacco and thats not including there draft pick QB. They will probably draft Barkley too. Lawd have mercy

Steelers just need an ILB and Saftey
Cinci just needs a G and RT ( great draft for G)
We need

At least 2 WR's
2 TE's
ILB
G/C
RT
CB

congratulations Baltimore ravens. Worst run franchise since 2012.

With the 1st pick in the 2019 draft
While Flacco still makes a bucketload.

speaking of that piece of shit, flacco..nice to see him help the team out by taking at least minor paycut.
Can't wait for that shitstain to leave. We should have traded him for a bucketload of picks to the browns years ago.

You’re on drugs
Yeah, so what’s your point? lol

No really.........It’s a fact. He’s a good player, a dependable sure handed receiver and in a normal market with a choice of viable FA WRs his market value isn’t much higher than what I mentioned. His present value is inflated by the present market and anyone that was going to sign him is over paying. It’s just plain, simple economic fact.

As has been mentioned there’s really no reason to be upset, or to criticize anyone for not “trying harder” to sign him. Just like always, it’s a team with tons of available liquitable assets that over pays for an FA like Landry. That team was never going to be the Ravens.

So, Mike Wallace's $8 mil last year was what Landry should be making this year?
Ridiculous.

Don’t forget 2 safety’s. Tony Jabronison sucks and Weddle is washed up

Ridiculous.
Obviously in hindsight Wallace didn’t pan out as was expected. Similar to some thoughts about Landry, many thought he was held back by Tannehill., but..........

Mike’s two year contract averaged about $5.5 mil. per. His cap # in 2016 was $3.5 mil.. So let’s say Landry signed a similarly structured 2 year deal that averaged what you say he is worth at a minimum, which I think you mentioned $12 mil. per year. So in 2018 Landry’s cash and cap # is about $8 mil. In 2019 that # is $16 mil.. I think you would agree, not a good analogy.

Name one team in the NFL set at every position. Even the Eagles have needs this upcoming offseason and they're defending champs.

No team in the NFL is perfect. We have a good amount of needs but some of those(RT for example) can be masked if we upgrade elsewhere. The WR corps cannot be, but we need to add enough guys to the point where we don't need to add the elite #1 guy in FA.. And since there's only one of those guys left we aren't going to add that guy at all. Which is fine, the free agency guard and ILB class is good. We really don't need a CB since we might keep Carr(despite that being against my wishes).

Our needs are
WR(x2 or 3)
TE(only one. You don't need an elite TE to win a SB btw smh)
G/C(this pisses me off and this is why I'm happy Ozzie is retiring for what it's worth. FIX THE DAMN LINE)
RT(if we cut Howard... which we should)
ILB.

That's a doable haul. WR can be knocked out in the draft, and after reworking some deals we should be able to fix the oline and possibly acquire an ILB #2.

"But I don't want restructures".

Too damn bad. Steve said it's happening. You don't run the team(thank god. Only @Truth could adaquately do so) and you have no say. No team in the NFL gives their fans any kind of say. You're delusional if you think that.

Wait to see what happens. If we go all defense again(strong possibility given that I want Ozzie fired) then I will be right there raging with you.

Not what I had in mind. I think Landry should have got 5 year deal at about $12 mil, much easier to spread the cap and structure it in a way that he can be let go after 3.
Someone mentioned that already - if the run stuffing nose guard is worth that much to us, how come more than competent receiver isn't?

Free agency worries me, what wr would wanna come here? No money, bullshit opportunity to put up numbers, disastrous team who won't give you a chance to contend.. we have jack shit to offer a wr
