Stanley-Hurst-Skura-Yanda-Lewis is a pathetic one(since we are unlikely to retain Jensen and likely to release Howard).

If we ignore the oline, I don't care if the offseason consists of us getting Allen Robinson, Calvin Ridley, bringing Megatron out of retirement, Jimmy Graham, and Dallas Goedert. This team is FUCKED with a bad oline. Just ask the Giants how well that worked for them.

Yeah we'll need some new players but Hurst imo should be starting. I'll review the tape but he was really good last year

No, hes depth. He was not really good last year. Struggled mightily in run blocking. Decent at best pass blocker. Below average player.

If we rely on him to start we're fucked

he should be the leader in the clubhouse but he hasnt earned the right to just have the spot - he was consistent and had certain good qualities that made him useful in particular situations but he also had a tendency to be bullied sometimes by bigger interior pass rushers - he did well but id hesitate to say he was "really good"
 
the rsr guys (or at least filmstudy and mcfarland) seem to think there's a chance we might see alex lewis potentially being switched to centre this offseason...

What??? I know he’s a good pass blocker and Jensen is also a better pass blocker than Ron blocker, but I don’t see Lewis as a center at all.

He said he saw a tweet saying we released Maclin and Webb and restructured those two. He said he assumed it was true based on Webb actually being released. So take it with a grain of salt

Lewis at C? How and Why? He was TERRIBLE as an interior olinemen, and we want the guy who's NEVER played it to
1. Call protections at the line.
2. Take on the best interior guy.

You want to put lewis at G... Fine. Put Yanda at C then. That makes more goddamn sense then this shit.
 
Hurst made big strides under the new OL staff and I'm guessing they see more room for improvement with another year. Serviceable starter at LG and quality backup as well for a relatively cheap deal. I'm ok with it if it means cutting Howard and moving Lewis to rt

Certain people have been told to accept mediocrity and the bullshit this teams been feeding us... SOOO, unfortunately, I've grabbed my spoon. It is what it is at this point.

Dude...none of that is confirmed and it was just a theory. None of it came from the ravens. Just let it play out before going nuts.
 
I would think Siragusa/Skura are the favorites to start at C with Jensen likely gone at this point. Not sure what the plan with Lewis would be but I would expect to see him at RT before I'd see him at C.

Hurst at 4.4mil/year is pretty reasonable considering the contracts that have been handed to guards with starting experience lately.

I hope you're right.. But this is a stupid idea and if Harbaugh has this idea he should be fired on the spot. Him at C is a stupid idea and everyone and their mother knows it.

We have yet to see about the Hurst thing.. I'm not happy with keeping him but as a backup who can play 4 positions on the oline.. I'm fine with that. As a starter he sucks and I'd be pissed off as all hell. Keeping him as a starter would be us routinely pulling a Plaxico Burress and calling it progress.

I still stand by my belief. Even if we significantly upgrade the recieving corps, if we do NOTHING about the oline we will still struggle on offense bar none. This isn't missing out on a single option. The oline overachieved significantly last season and if I were a betting man I would not bet on a repeat performance. Especially since Skura and Hurst were both overall liabilities. Only reason we were upright is because Jensen doesn't suck and Stanley is a franchise LT.

That said, I hope Siragusa makes a full recovery and can start at LG over Hurst. I also hope we are smart enough to draft a center rather than trotting out Skura who sucks.

I'm actually fine with Lewis at T..
