The 2021 Offseason Thread

Cleveland shows off tons of power and has cinderblocks for hands but he really struggled to sustain blocks after that initial engage and also his pass set looks a little weird (he's got a great anchor but seemed to catch pass rushers a lot - when he actually faced any - didnt have a ton of guys actually rush him)

Think his pass sets will improve with more experience. He has the traits and intangibles you can’t teach

Ben Mason apparently spat on the hand that fed him! He signed with the Patriots PS instead! Harbaugh is livid for having drafted him in the 5th round despite knowing that he would be available as an UDFA. Reason he was drafted is now clear. Mason would've chosen the Patriots instead of the Ravens. Harbaugh feels back stabbed by the tiny FB!

Momma Harbaugh ain’t happy… momma ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy

"Ben plays like a Raven, Ben would run through a brick wall because he loves to be physical, Ben would eat a raw crab whole to show his devotion to this team and culture"

*immediately signs with New England to be their back-up fullback at the literal first opportunity*

That's why you never overdraft! That's on John. If it was him that "had to have the guy," drafting a guy that would have been a UDFA just to keep him from another team or to do him a favor by drafting him is stupid. In the end, players at this level will always do whats best for themselves. No fault on this guy. Fault on the Ravens for breaking their board.

I hope so - at times he moved well and at others his technique seemed like it was a mess

he was able to create initial movement but against DL wasn’t sustaining and finishing blocks

Rashod Batemen? OUCH. Why can't the Raven's have nice things? Not that we really thought Batemen would have a 1,000 yard receiving year. Hell, 400 yards would have worked even in a 17 game season. But really? OUCH. Maybe the Purple Birds just don't draft the right kind of durable player and thats probably it.

I mean... he'll be playing in October, so it's not that big of a deal.

Short term IR.

When we drafted Bateman I did mention Rashod sounded too much like Breshad for my comfort level. ;-)

i have to say that jaylon looked phenomenal in the preseason games and especially in preseason 2 and 3 - looks like its clicking somewhat with his hand usage and he just looks sharper and leaner moving - consistently good ball get off

i dont want to get too overexcited but we fans always seem to lose faith in guys abilities to develop after their first 2 years at EDGE when consistently we've seen guys break out in year 3 and 4 lol

Knowing Ferguson’s background though, way out of shape and fat and stiff at his pro day, clearly did not work at all, fat and stiff and showing zero development for 2 years, and then “sink or swim” time comes and he finally develops? Hmm
