Mock Central

San Diego Tribune did a two round mock with us getting Ridley in the first and Duke Ejiofor (edge, Wake Forest) in the second. I'd be pretty happy with that in the first two rounds. Ridley goes without saying, and Ejiofor is a really talented and savvy edge rusher.
I'd be ok with it. I really like Ejiofor but I don't know if I like him in the second...

It’s almost like Mel doesn’t watch this team. After hearing his explanation on ESPN I had to laugh. His entire justification was undervaluing Howard while going hard on the idea of drafting any offensive player. I’m not a huge fan of taking a right tackle in the top 20 when you have far more impactful players left on the board. This guy isn’t even close to a first round talent and we need help at guard over a right tackle. Plus we could probably get him in the 3rd round.

CBS did another mock with us getting Ridley. I'm really trying not to get my hopes up for them sliding to us, but it was be so damn great if it happened.

So Mel Kiper has us taking Pitt OT Brian O'Neill at the 16th Pick... Thoughts?

I'd actually be happy with it, but I've always had a weak spot for crazy athletic OL. I view the guy as having Lane Johnson upside, but he could use some work- but every college OL does anyway, so I think it could be worth it. He has experience at Left Tackle, Right Tackle and Tight End which is pretty helpful for getting on the field early.

You’d be happy with him as the 16th best player (or higher) on the board?

Probably not at the current moment because I haven't watched a lot of film, but as far as OL go, I'd only have Quinton Nelson and Conor Williams ahead of him definitively right now. I think he'll probably test really well at the combine and that'll push him in the 10-20 range.
