Lamar isn't quite the athlete Vick was in his prime, but I think he'll put a lot more work into becoming great than Vick did back then. He won't just show up and play the way Falcons' Vick did.

That short run Vick had with the Eagles where he still had some of his tricks but put a lot of effort into learning the offense and becoming a complete QB is what Lamar can become if he goes to the right team.
 
Which tape of Derwin James do you recommend i watch? I can't remember which games I've watched....not many but outside of his athleticism, which stands out, I found myself wanting to get excited about him but not quite getting it.

Any of his freshman games lol. Theres a play vs UF (freshman year obv) where he trhows their left tackle lol. He was vicious as a freshman

If Jackson has the smarts to know when to slide or run out of bounds, the ability to pick up a first down on a third down play
with his legs a couple times a game would be very valuable.

Lamar is probably a better runner than vick.. thats about it

there is nothing to be excited about other than his athleticism. He doesnt stand out. I dnt understand the hype.
 
Mike Vick is incredibly overrated in my opinion. He was completely beautiful when healthy, like I still remember that game vs the redskins. Only problem was he was never healthy besides that magical 2010 season. Even when he played a lot of games in other years he was so beat up.

Well your opinion is wrong. Just because you’re too young to have watched him in his prime doesn’t mean he’s overrated.

I don’t care how good a player is even if it’s Tom Brady. I agree Vick is one of the most exciting players ever, and my favorite player ever is Randall Cunningham. Vick never had any playoff success and I’d rather have a slightly above average qb every year than one who misses half of every season and then 3 straight in jail

He didn’t miss half of every season. That’s an extreme exaggeration.

His last few years in the league he had injury problems, but that’s it.

vick carried an absolute dogshit falcons team to the championship very early in his career, he had very little talent around him. the falcons have completely turned it around, not solely because of matt ryan, but because they have finally found out how to hit on draft picks, matt ryan obviously makes a huge difference, but the falcons have been sacks of shit for a lot of his career as well. early on the michael turner/tony gonzales/roddy white trio crushed it, then they fell off the face of the earth for years, and finally after building an OL and a defense and going balls deep for offensive playmakers they have come back. matt ryan would have NEVER taken mike vicks falcons team to a championship, because he couldnt even break .500 with a superior team for a few years. the falcons were a poorly managed team for a long time, and the falcons teams in the mike vick era are certainly no exception, and he carried them to a NFC title game and kept them competitive his entire time there. mike vick in his prime is the stuff of legends, obviously he wasnt picking apart defenses from the pocket, and that comes with limitations, but he was probably the most dangerous weapon in the league in those days. what youre saying about him is kinda ridiculous lol.

I can agree with the Falcons being run like shit and it was easy to see that after he lost. I will always hate him as a person and I'm sure that sways my opinion. Also, I said him missing half a season rendered him way less valuable and you said that is an extreme exaggeration. You do realize he only once played a full season right? Also, spending a year in and a half in jail makes it really hard to start. He never even passed for THREE THOUSAND yards with the Falcons. He averaged 150 passing yards a game. Obviously he was an incredible runner in addition, but his passing ability is one of the most overrated things out there. I do acknowledge his ability to run and make plays. He had three incredible seasons where he rushed for 6,8,9 tds. The rest of his career, his rushing tds mirror Joe Flacco. Besides that, his rushing He averaged a passer rating in the low 70s, was known as extremely cocky and an awful student of the game, he said in his 60 minutes interview that if a coach put 100$ in a game tape he would have never found it.

"I was lazy. You know, I was the last guy in the building, first guy out. I know that. You know, I hear everything that people say. And that hurt me when I heard that, but I know it was true." Direct quote from Mike Vick.

Look, I think his 2006 and 2010 seasons were complete magic. I watched every single game of him in 2010. He could have been a top 10 quarterback ever. He played like a superstar for a few years, and generally wasn't very good the rest of his career. Cam Newton is far superior than Vick could even want to me. He's the best mobile qb ever but I'd take atleast 50 qbs before his name comes up. He didn't realize that until it was too late. He had so much talent and wasted it by being lazy and making animals fight to his death.
 
Hating someone as a person if you’ve never met them is a little much..you can disagree with their actions. Even he knows it was wrong.
