The Defense, the Special Teams, and the Ugly: Week 9 Edition

The issue I have with this line of thinking is this.

1. The Ravens offense had scored six points in three quarters and change to that point. They had reached the end zone two times, including that drive. What signs pointed to the Ravens reaching the end zone again?
2. We make the assumption that the Ravens get an interception again after taking the points. Believe it or not, the play calls likely change with points from the Ravens.
3. The Ravens had been incredibly successful on fourth down to that point and actually were across the game. I think that was the only one they didn't convert on the day.
If we'd been 14 pts down, I'm cool with going for it. Even if we dont' make it. 10 pts though? The 3 pts turns a 2 score game into a 1 score game. Big difference. It was the wrong decision this time. But I actually did not mean we'd be tied after the TD if we took the points, I only meant we would have been within one score if he takes the points, and when the offense capitalized on the turnover to make it a one score game, the defense failed. Massively.

Completely ?
No. But that second pick was pretty horrible.

it was god awful. especially cuz joe saw the defender, double clutched and threw an almost marvelous across the field zinger few qb's would even attempt. it almost got over the defender.....almost. it was a bonehead decision to toss it.

joe had about a five yards per pass average. he is the king of the short yardage checkdown. no running game to help him.

was it all on joe? no......does he get the lions share of the blame YES. the picks were killer. he gets burned long and checks down. sick of it

literally sick of it all

We blame the defense, but they forced three three-and-outs and an interception on four drives. The offense mustered up a whole 6 points in three and a quarter quarters. The defense held the Titans to 52 plays compared to 75 for the Ravens.

I can't blame the defense at all.

Plus, like I said, not the wrong call when your offense has done zippo in this game. You have to try to get the touchdown, not settle for three field goals in over three quarters of work.

Not gonna happen until black monday. No ship will go down w/0 her captain.

At the least Marty needs to be gone tomorrow.

The worst part about this is I remember when people were expecting Mike Mularkey to be fired in Tennessee, and the Titans wouldn't go anywhere until a new HC was brought in. Yet Mularkey out coached a Super Bowl winning Coach and has them in the division race.

oh and one last thing
harball is an idiot. hes a gambler. that's all he is
can't even coach up special teams to execute
i'm done

On both sides players aren't executing. I doubt Pees tells the lbs don't cover rbs out the backfield and Marty isn't telling guys not to block, pass or catch. This team fucking sucks at executing what they need too. Even the GARBAGE time td looked like shit and easily could've been flagged. I tho k even with better personnel there still would t be significant changes. This shit has to be cleaned up starting with the staff. I fully believe Harbaugh was held up by the vet presence on the team early. Said on the old boards he'd have to earn his stripes after the 12 purge and this team has average at best and the sorry part is they're too stupid to realize there's no moral victories. We're too prideful to tank and too bad to realistically compete. I'd also like to point out this Jefferson signing is looking like a waste. Who knows though how we'll look with a new coordinator.

Call me crazy, but I don't think Flacco played a bad game. I know his stat sheet is horrible but he delivered on some 3rd downs and despite a few really bad plays, I don't blame him. I blame Marty for actually thinking you can get anywhere with instant 2 yards pass with no YAC.

I mean that kind of is the problem. We had this discussion before when they failed massively in the 4th didn't we? Why do you think that is? It is a pattern we've had since Pees came here and oddly, it was the complaint that drove him out of NE. Hmmm...interesting.

Again with the "blame" word. They are a fucking team. The TEAM lost. The defense had their hand in it just like Koch and his punt, Flacco and his INT that was solely on him, Perriman and his 3rd down drop and Perriman and his fucking pop ups.

That is Marty offensive system. You can’t ask him to change the 2 yard no yac system. I mean he’s designing to the OCs strength

It sucks to know that the team is not good enough to go far, but win just enough games to have us picking in the middle of the draft. Can't even look forward to 2018 draft

harbs as always take points off the board with the best kicker in football sitting on the bench. flacco is playing awful right now.maybe he is still woozy from the hit but he had all 3 receivers and te's healthy for once aside for boyle and the offense looked like shit. $12o million dollar man with the worst worst worst passing offense in the league. marty sucks too but this is mostly on flacco. he sucks and does not talk to his team on the sidelines like winning qb's do

Titans were the 3rd last red zone offense in the NFL before this game. Today 3 TD on not much more than 3 red zone drives.
Decker had his first TD as a Titan, exactly when we couldn't afford to let it happen, after 3 terrible plays by Mosley on that one drive. Stupid penalty by ZDS cost us another.

I don't want to talk about the offense any longer.
This.

Everyone knows the offense stinks.

This was the secons worst redzone team in the league. Bammm we give them 3 tds.

The defense played relatively well. But when the NEEEEEEEDDDDD a stop they never seem to get it

lol hey I said we needed to clean house weeks ago and was told we didn't suck and I was crazy. But, we truly just are that bad. We have talent soooo that pretty much leaves position coaches and coordinators. Not saying it doesn't fall on Harbs too but don't think he's going anywhere.

You just gotta keep speaking "your" truth and to hell with whether or not any one agrees with you or calls you crazy. The Ravens flat out SUCK! Period! No amount of excuses to be made for them and none accepted.

Good teams can overcome adversity....bad teams can't! The Ravens are a bad team! And that starts at the top and filters down.

No, I was totally for them going for the first down

check the all 22 tape.

every play has players run certain routes at certain depths.

its up to the QB to pick to who he will pass.
its up to the receivers to get open so he will pick them and its up to the oline to give both of them enough time to do what they need to do.

every single OC has a check down in any play that they call.....
