Playoff Picture

Key games this week (apart from ours of course):
Colts at Bills
Raiders at Chiefs
Redskins at Chargers

Ravens lost....
Colts lost........
Raiders lost....
Redskins lost.

Next....

We're going to have to win out, we dropped the ball yesterday because we would lose a tie-breaker against the Bills I believe. We have three straight games against AFC opponents so we have to win out no question. Good thing for us is that Cleveland is probably the biggest hurdle because they're really desperate atm. Cincinnati looked atrocious against Chicago and while I expect the Bengals to give it their all, I think we should still pull out the victory there.

FYI, we own the tiebreakers over the remaining 7-6 teams. Winning out would guarantee playoffs, however, we could still get in by going 2-1 (would need help in this scenario).

yeah if we go 2-1 we are essentially in now because we have all the tiebreakers and the bills play the pats and the chargers and chiefs play each other which means they at best can go 2-1 which means that as long as we take care of business vs 2 of the browns, colts and bengals then we are in...

The followiing teams are in the wild card competition with us
Bills: MIA, @NE, @MIA (most likely win 2 games) finish 9-7 --- AFC Record 5-4: best case 8-4
Titans: @SF, LAR, Jags (most likely will win 1 or 2 games) finish 9-7 or 10-6 -- AFC Record 7-4: best case 8-4
Chiefs: LAC, MIA, @Denver (best bet, win 2 games to finish 9-7 --- AFC Record 5-4: best case AFC record: 8-4
Chargers: @KC, @NYJ, Oak (I think they sweep and finish 10-6 and win AFCW --- AFC Record 4-5 -- best case 7-5

Ravens: @Cle, Indy, Cin (I think we sweep and finish 10-6 --- AFC Record 5-4: best case conference record: 8-4

Right now we have the same record as the Bills and the Chiefs in conference record, and the better record against common opponents. The Chargers are 4-5 in the AFC. The Titans are 7-4 and we have 3 games remaining in the conference.

essentially we physically cannot be worse off in tiebreakers with the bills if we end up with the same record so they need to beat our record, likewise the chargers

Next week if we take care of business it will be a little more clear once we know the winner of the Chiefs, Chargers game.

Best case scenario would be for both us and the Chargers to win out. I think the Chargers could do some damage in the playoffs and they have the weapons to take out the Steelers. We would have a very tough game against the Jaguars, most likely, but if we can get past that then I think we actually match up better against the Pats than the Steelers.

This is all based on the assumption that our defense figures out how to play without Jimmy. If not, we might as well just lose out and not make the playoffs.

About Buffalo.... we are out of the playoffs at the moment. Just checked ESPN Playoff Machine and as of now, Buffalo is the 6th seed and we are the 7th. Bills are in over us right now due to the Strength of Victory tiebreaker.

"Wins tie break over Baltimore based on strength of victory" Even though NFL.com has us in it as the 6th seed.

To be honest my friend.....I doubt that the Ravens can do that! I can see them falling to any one of their remaining opponents.
I personally see us losing against the Browns and quite possibly the Bengals too. Last night's loss had me sick to my stomach and I feel it could be the beginning of the end. We've seen these two stories before: how our defense plays on the road without Jimmy and our inability to control our destiny (see 2013 and 2016).

I feel the same way!

That’s weird because NFL.com has us in at the moment I noticed they were both different this morning I’m going with NFL.com right now

i think common games is the first tie breaker...
the worst our record can be in common games is 3-2 and the best the bills can do is 4-1

if we beat the colts and bengals then we automatically hold the tiebreaker over the bills no matter what happens vs the browns - if we win 2 of our last 3 games the best that can happen to the bills is winning on strength of schedule

pretty sure espn is wrong and has skipped common games as it stands anyway... we are currently 3-0 in common games and the bills are 2-1

but yeah if we go 9-7 the worst that happens (no matter who those last 2 wins come against) is that we are tied with the bills and it goes down to strength of schedule

if we beat the colts and bengals (forget the browns) the bills would have to win out including their game vs the pats

we are currently the 7th seed and out but think if we go 2-1 theres a good chance we eek in
