gimme this

Who are your gut feelings on the “three guys” that Eric decosta feels one of will be a raven in the first round? For me I’m feeling:
1. George karlaftis
2. David ojabo
3. Ahmad Gardner

those three just feel entirely too much like a ravens pick and I feel we’re gonna be able to choose between 2 of them

I’m not a big fan of us taking a corner in the first, but Gardner is different, I think he’s a future all pro

Seems like the hype on him is growing more and more. I’m seeing a lot more rankings where he’s now CB1

Probably a good list. I think there's a chance Penning could be one of three

Ojabu is probably the only one of the three that could be there at 14, and there's the connection between him and our DC. Though if Karlaftis is somehow available at 14 I hope he's the pick.

Honestly, I'd be all for trying to see if the Giants are willing to trade down from 7th overall for more picks since they have two in the top ten and need a lot of new, young players. There's probably be a top five talent available at that pick.

What’s your guys take on Trent McDuffie?

I think he would be the perfect complement to Marlo. Is 14 too high for him? DJ has him ranked 13 in his top 50. I think he would be a perfect target if we were to trade back.

Much as i love secondary, i dnt want a cb 14.. gonna take atleast 2yrs for them to get comfortable, plus i feel like this maybe our only chances for next few yrs to get an elite rusher

It’d be shocking as all hell if he didn’t

damn, am hoping he slips to us. With Neal and Cross going top ten

As for the 3-4 prospects EDC was talking about… I’ve been trying to figure it out lol

for me (probably some wishful thinking involved as it’s possible they’re all gone by 14)
1. Stingley
2. Gardner
3. Ojabo
4. Ikem

I don’t buy that, I think ojabo is the least likely one to be there at 14

not sure the top 5 is good enough this year to warrant a trade up - this really isn’t a great looking draft class at the top

really tricky exercise - somehow more tricky right now than working out who we were picking in the late 1st last year lol...

my best guess is that they’ve got 2 or 3 edge guys with very similar grades and he’s 100% sure that at least one of them will be around because otherwise 5 edge guys would have to be gone before 14 which would be wild...

so I guess it’s 2-3 of these 4:
Walker
Ojabo
Karlaftis
Johnson

alternatively they’ve got a couple of big grades on guys who they think the rest of the league doesn’t value the same but idk who that would be... Lloyd, Linderbaum, Ojabo maybe as a group of 3

the ojabo connection will obviously be popular with draftniks but worth pointing out that they will have had those grades done before they even hired macdonald

I have to disagree. Ekwonu, Neal, Thibodeaux, Hamilton and Karlaftis would absolutely be worth a trade up if they're there at 7 (depending on the price of course). Those guys would be long term, high caliber players that would make a huge impact on the team.

I agree that he'd be nice next to Queen, but at 14 feels a bit too rich for me.

If we get to 14 and there are still a few guys around that we are interested in and might go later in the 1st (e.g. Penning, Hill) and also Lloyd was available, then I could see us trading back into the 20s and seeing which of those options is still around. I'd be down for taking him at that point.
trading down into the 20s would get us a lot of picks, including future picks.

we can't be giving up that many high quality picks with Lamar about to get a 40+m contract. I agree those players are worth the trade up, but in our instance, not a good idea.

I honestly don’t think they’re worth giving up extra capital for... maybe one of the tackles or thibodeaux might be - but just don’t think anyone in this class is worth it

And I know others disagree but I definitely don’t think karlaftis is worth trading up for

What are your thoughts on Hamilton?

Everyone seems to agree that he is S1, but after that the consensus gets murky. I've seen him mocked as high as top-5 and as low as the late 20's.
