I was extremely impressed with him from the start, I just needed more looks to get away from the pure guard impression I once had.i love how hard you've come around on Ekwonu already lol

um what about DL???
we've got madubuike and washington under contract right now and no one else lol
Amen, I think DL is probably our biggest hole by far, more than OL. We have major problems here even if we bring back Williams and Campbelli like washington but not as a starter - he's a rotational piece i trust to be stout against the run and come in and spell starters
It’s okay, no worries on semantics. Yeah, I can see that go both ways. I guess it really does depend on the situation. No real true absolute on that front either way, very situational. It just means usually one is a dud though lol. Gosh though would it be great to get an elite edge defender and Oweh develop into a studi look somewhat at the miami guys from last year - rousseau and phillips (rousseau came in with top 10/top 15 hype and then people got into the film and he dropped while phillips climbed and eventually went top 20)
jabari zuniga and jonathan greenard sort of (zuniga got all sorts of hype while greenard was more quietly one of my favourite edges that year) although they both got taken in a similar range in the 3rd to each other
ZDS and Dupree is a good example for sure
often was probably the wrong word to use lol - but it's interesting that when you've got 2 talented guys in a pair that one will seem to fade into the background unlike corners where it's normally seen more like a team and a group

Yeah completely forgot about DL lol. I would bring back one of Campbell or Williams just to mentor the younger guys but we need to get young there asap. I don’t see a major game changer there in the first though. I’d rather wait until the second and get a guy like Travis Jones rather than take Jordan Davis with the firstum what about DL???

a reminder as we start the draft process (if anyone needs it) - that anything bill polian says is likely either wrong, disingenuous or a lie
I just told my friend, when Bama's offense (and evidently Georgia's D), we are watching 1/4 of the top 15 guys this draft. insane! This natty game is gonna be so fun when finalising some draft grades in the front 7s...
unbelievable levels of talent and competition - travon walker vs evan neal has been a particularly fun one so far when walker's lined up on him

Mills did pretty good down the stretch with a week team. I think the Texans would do best waiting until the next draft, unless they draft a guy after the 1st round.from my initial look around it seems like Pickett is expected to go somewhere R1, Willis as you say could have someone hyped hoping to capture the lightning in a bottle
but ive thought for a while that sam howell is probably due to rise up the boards and rankings - has all the tools to get scouts excited and when surrounded with weapons in 2020 he was dynamic and electric - he's also headlining the senior bowl too so a big chance to have scouts fall in love with him
id be surprised if more than 3 QBs were in play in round 1
matt corrall and desmond ridder at first glance dont strike me as the guys that nfl teams would covet that high but it only takes 1 team to fall in love
as you say though the free agent market is going to be massive here - cant imagine that under fire coaching staffs in carolina and new york will be able to not draft a rookie with their top pick if they dont land one of the free agents (or trade for a proven guy)
got to think all of these teams in the top 15 will be looking at a QB somewhere in free agency or the draft:
lions
texans
giants
panthers
falcons (maybe)
broncos
washington
vikings (maybe - if new coaching staff)
and a couple outside the top 15: saints, steelers
got to think though that the giants and panthers staffs cant afford not to find a QB this offseason and depending on what happens in houston we're probably looking at situations in houston and denver where new coaches want to find "their" guy to nurture and develop - possibly minnesota and washington too
lots of QB needy teams - not many QB prospects

I'm really hoping we can bring back Houston on another inexpensive contract. Doubt we have the money to bring back Campbell.um what about DL???

Losing Bowser hurts bad, really bad.
I haven't looked that deep yet, but is Linderbaum that good? He would have to be better than other guys at other positions for me because I think we need practically every position on defense and of course multiple spots on OL could be argued in OT, G, C. What I am saying is, just because we've needed a C longer than an OT doesn't mean we should draft the C. I know you say you're not "need vs. talent" but just saying, not sure I would go that route. The only way I would is if Stanley is done, then I would take one of those elite LTs depending--also gotta remember that the guy you don't take could go to your opponent and haunt you too.The more I look and consider all angles, the more I think Tyler linderbaum might be our best bet, we’re gonna lose bozeman, we’ve had center problems much longer than we’ve had OT problems, mekari and colon both are backups at that spot, not starters, and this is a strong and deep OT class especially if you’re looking for a RT, center offers nothing after linderbaum that I can see, and I see no solutions in FA.
I am not a need over talent guy, but unless a spectacular talent falls inexplicably to us, then linderbaum could easily be argued BPA, at 14 he’s in a cluster of guys who may or may not even be available who you could argue are superior prospects. Guys like ojabo, booth jr, leal, davis, cross, we could take any of them and I’d be satisfied, BUT I would also be just as satisfied with linderbaum there strictly on a talent level, I think booth is the only one there who you could definitively/objectively put above him, and I also feel there are going to be excellent options at all of those positions on days 2 and 3 as well, this is a stupidly deep draft class and edge/cb/s/ot in particular appear to be stacked all the way to round 7, along with LB which I am not looking too deeply into.
I’ll take another year of shootouts, as long as Lamar can stay on his feet, and the run game can get some traction. Give me Tyler linderbaum in round 1 to kick that off, and if he’s available, Daniel faalele in round 2. We need to add to the defense with this mass exodus coming, but first and foremost has to be protecting Lamar, without question imo, that comes first and I’ll sacrifice the defense for it.
None of the reasons I listed was “the” reason, just one of a number of factors. This is all with the caveat that linderbaum is legit in the same cluster of prospects available talent wise, what I’m saying is that as it looks right now linderbaum could very well be justifiable as bpa at 14.I haven't looked that deep yet, but is Linderbaum that good?
