2022 General Draft Thoughts

I’ll be extremely upset if Kyle Hamilton is there at 13 and we pass on him

Bro if he falls.. Imagine Williams and Hamilton as our safety duo for the next 3-5 years..

Looks like DJ is hooking his old buddies up

Our secondary would be absolutely ridiculous and an amazing counter to Cincy’s passing attack. I don’t think there’s a world where EDC passes on Kyle. I actually think he’d try and move up a few picks if Kyle slides

Is anyone other than DJ saying this? The only time I'm seeing from anyone is the 4.56 time, and just him saying that that's a fake time.

So if he ran a slower time than the combine are all the GMs going to assume he lost his speed in the last month and pass on him?

Not happening fellas

What they’re getting at is that the times are the combine weren’t super accurate this year with simulcast. Teams are opting to trust their own evaluations at pro days and such. It’s not that he got slower - it’s that teams feel that the combine we’re pegged faster than reality.

Literally the only pro day time I see is the 4.56 unofficial one. Nothing I look up says a different time. Only DJ saying it's slower.
That’s literally the point of the tweets that have been posted. You don’t get official numbers from pro days but that’s what officials apparently pegged him at beyond the reports that came out. Basically, they’re saying those reports are inaccurate. And see the above reply as to why it’s a conversation in the first place.

Yeah and I've been trying to ask if he's the only one saying that, but people keep just say his pro day time not combine in response. Besides DJ is anyone else saying the pro day time is wrong?

I'm asking if he's the only one though. I don't see anyone but DJ saying the time is wrong.
Usually those numbers are passed by agents so that why 4.56 is coming up. But DJ is basically saying that he got intel from a team or teams that had him slower than that. It might only be him but I wouldn’t doubt the validity. Pro day “reports” are a sham. Teams aren’t giving out the info they gathered.

If just feels like to me if his pro-day time was that awful there's be a lot more buzz about it.

It’s slowly coming out. Right before draft.

If Jaquan brisker is there at 45 and looks like far and away the bpa, should we take him?

I say yes. He doesn’t fit into a need for us, however, give me the safety tandem of Williams and brisker for the next 5 years and chuck walks, that is a really fun sounding safety tandem. I think brisker has honey badger/polamalu type potential, he might be a shallow/box type safety but he’s Uber athletic and a very heady player.

i think its less likely than it was but i certainly wouldnt be opposed to putting him in the box and letting him range and hit all over the field - i dont think he'd it's likely he'd be BPA for me at 45 but he's definitely athletic and talented

I think brisker should be a late first round kinda guy, so to me if he’s there at 45 I don’t believe too many guys are competing with him on my board, and if there is a guy I’d take over him it’s probably a need/positional value thing

seen a few guys in the media being fed 4.7s by scouts but no confirmation that it's not just the same guy telling 3 or 4 influential people the same time

he was officially timed at 4.56 at his pro day and apparently a load of scouts there had hand times that put him between 4.54 and 4.56 so given that the combine official number of 4.59 is close to that and the fact that the 10 and 20 yd splits at both events are similar id say it's likely that time is pretty accurate... especially given his broad and vertical jumps at the combine (similarly about linear explosion but not affected by a fast track) which suggest he's much more explosive than a 4.7 - would be bizarre for a bigger guy to be so explosive out of the blocks but not be able to stride out and accelerate through the 40 (his size should make him slower out the gate and faster to finish but this is suggesting the opposite)

feels like we're hitting lying season and miller, DJ and brugler are being fed info from 1 or 2 teams to try and influence other teams who may have had faster hand times to get him to fall into range

if he falls, i imagine it's much more likely going to be purely down to positional value and not because of "poor" athleticism
