2022 General Draft Thoughts

I think brisker should be a late first round kinda guy, so to me if he’s there at 45 I don’t believe too many guys are competing with him on my board, and if there is a guy I’d take over him it’s probably a need/positional value thing

i guess im just lower than you are on brisker then lol - ive got a mid-2nd as his starting point in my grades - ive got at least 34 guys graded ahead of him and probably more (he may not be the top guy in his tier) and that's without any QBs on my board, and a bunch of players ive heard good things about at corner, wide receiver, linebacker, running back and even safety

now this is the sort of language that an agent puts out there when he knows he probably didnt run that fast lol

“as low as”

Lol. You know these fools be taking side money from agents to prop their guys up like this.

we really could stand to go pass rush rounds 1 and 2. No fooling around. Watching the D line play from last year...Williams, Broderick, Justin. Overall not encouraging. Justin still sparks at times and so does Broderick to a lesser degree but Davis or Wyatt would make this front improved as well as improving the guys around them. Need someone that can win quick...Jermaine for me is still that guy in round 1 but assuming he is gone;

1) Davis
2) make a move for Ebuketie

at about the 35 -38 slot (round 2) the pass rusher market gets bone dry. Not getting a legit edge guy after that. Just isn't happening

This is what voch Lombardi would call an “asswhoop” draft. Dudes that just happened to be BPA where I picked them

Gimme a Jermaine Johnson and Travis Jones combo.

I can’t tell if y’all are up or down on karlaftis lol

i am medium/lukewarm on him lol - his stiffness and his length worry me
but he's an ass-whoop kinda guy

he's a shorter, stiffer version of hutchinson lol - gk's got longer arms but hutch has never struggled with length on tape whereas GKIII does (especially in the run game)

i love that he's this powerful and violent at 20 yrs old though - and he's rocked up physically too - lots to love about him but there's not that many (if any?) successful edges in the league who are neither bendy nor lengthy and i imagine the ones that are (if they exist) are likely athletic freaks and that makes me nervous... you're banking on somewhat of an outlier with a top pick in R1

I have questions about George karlaftis In the run game especially. I think he plays small for a £265 guy. I've seen him moved by tight ends a couple of times.
I don't think he's very instinctive versus the run. He doesn't seem to have great change of direction If he over runs something. He seems like that a late1st round or even second round player to me

the DL guy that feels most like a raven in the first 2 days for me for a multitude of reasons is phidarian mathis...
bama guy, senior bowl guy, big, athletic, powerful, 2-gapping, holds up against double teams, alignment versatile, production (including sacks)

ive seen him slipping down draft boards and i dont get why tbh - i get that he didnt blow up the senior bowl the way jones and wyatt did but he seems to have gone from being in the conversation for DL 2 with wyatt to becoming completely anonymous in this shallow DL group and i do not understand it

i think he struggles to stack and create separation at the point of attack - seen him get latched on and kept close by OL and TEs in the running game way too often - think when he doesnt win with his initial punch he can get swallowed up - especially because he frequently plays with too high of a pad level

and you're absolutely right about his reactive athleticism to change direction - i didnt notice particularly poor instincts but it's possible i was substituting poor reaction speed to athletic traits rather than mental ones at times - ive got a similar late 1 grade on him that i constantly move between late 1 and early 2 also

What about boye? You think he can make it to round 2?

i think he's going back end of round 1 somewhere - someone will look at him a bit like we did with oweh but in a much weaker class overall - might see him go in the 20s - could definitely see teams with 2 picks who are picking late in the round take a liking to him (packers, chiefs, lions... even the eagles could take him at 19 with one of their 3 picks) - but cowboys, cardinals feel like potential fits for him too

would not surprise me to see him go ahead of karlaftis
