2022 General Draft Thoughts

How is Ebiketie’s run defense? On par with Oweh? Or is it his pass rush skills you guys are high on?

He's got some traits that project well to edge setting although i would say he's inconsistent on the front side as an edge setter right now

what he is already though is an advanced college pass rusher - lots of tools in his repertoire and an adaptive pass rusher through the rep to adjust to the OL - he's reactive with his hands through the rush to stay clean with good timing - and what was really impressive was that in his final year he was able to adjust to tackles vertical setting hard because they feared his outside rush and went speed-to-power

he's the opposite of oweh in that sense

would not be surprised if our 6th round pick got spent on a QB

we only have 2 right now on the roster and we've already seen d'eriq king be brought in for a top 30 visit (albeit it's possible that teams want to gauge whether he's maybe a receiver too)

but we dont have a QB3 right now and someone to develop behind huntley would be nice

And you’ve got quite a few of those athletic guys as well that fit what our QB room is

If I'm a zone team that can stomach an undersized lighter C prospect like Linderbaum, im not gonna lie but i think i probably prefer the idea of cam jurgens in the late 2nd or 3rd to Linderbaum in the 1st (or early 2nd)

i actually really like jurgens and he's actually probably better in a gap scheme (right now) than Linderbaum is but the fit with the ravens still isnt great or at least his value is higher to other teams right now where for the ravens he'd be more of a developmental prospect where he might be a day 1 starter for another team

Agreed with this. I’m not sure the difference between the two is that great. Jurgens is a dog.

i think Linderbaum's technically way ahead in zone and as a pass protector the difference is massive
but...
Jurgens is more able to create movement on gap blocks and is way more aggressive and nasty in his play - but his processing is shaky vs blitzes and stunts and he can get put in the QB's lap pretty easily with his wide hands and lack of mass

i think there's a full 2 round difference between them but i wouldnt be surprised if a zone team disagreed after meeting Jurgens (if he interviews well)

and while i think there's a massive difference right now, i do think it's possible that jurgens has the better long-term career if he can fix some of his technical issues

KC's 2 late 1st rounders are pretty close to being straight up the right value
might have to do the same as last year when we got an extra 1st rounder from them and give them a day 2 pick back

it might look something like this:
14 and 76
for
29, 30 and 121

and EDC will like that doubly as much because not only does it give us an extra 1st round pick but it gives us an extra pick in total too

GB might throw us their 2 1st rounders too but we'd most likely have to give up 45 to do it if we wanted both their 1st rounders...
14 and 45
for
22, 28 and 92

but equally as likely is we'd just take the 53rd or 59th pick in the 2nd round straight up to move back from 14 to 22 and acquire that extra 2nd rounder instead without having to give up any extra capital

the reason those 2 teams work also, is that both are pretty significantly in the market for a WR and will likely want to get ahead of the Eagles and Saints to do it - if we're looking to trade back, our best hope is that a couple of the receivers start to go... i imagine the chiefs are probably very high on jameson williams and the packers are likely to be high on olave (would be my guess) - if wilson and london go before 14 i think we very well might be fielding calls from both teams
If i was ravens id do a deal with kc, but if im kc i wouldnt take that deal at all.. they better use one of them first to replace their hof safety sorenson

His run defense is nowhere near oweh. Oweh with his lack of sack production was strange, because he was a rare athlete and he was an elite run defender already in college. Ebiketie is quite the opposite, he’s a pass rusher first and foremost and will need a lot of work in the run game

and idk why penn state does this - but both of them were slow off the ball despite having great explosion and get-off because that seems to be the way they're both coached lol

like the last 2 years they've had some of the most devastatingly explosive athletes in the game but hamstrung them by not letting them explode off the line and attack

You sure it wasn't the frog jumping ability that got you excited.

I just got into watching Marcus Jones. Bruh.. this dude is electric. Put him in the nickel, special teams and offense lol. F it

There’s a cap on his ceiling because of his size and obviously the fact he’s just coming off injuries in both shoulders is somewhat worrying

But he’s massively talented with great ball skills and plays bigger than his size... remind you of anyone? (tavon???)

Some team is gonna get an excellent nickel and return ace with Marcus jones, he is one of the more talented players in this class, shame about his size but I think he’s gonna be just fine in the nfl anyway

Just gonna be about how long his body can hold up
