Hall of Famer
Week 13 is upon us and the playoff race is heating up with only a few weeks remaining in the 2017 regular season. It's a new era in New York with Eli Manning benched for Geno Smith as they officially put their bid in on the Josh Rosen Sweepstakes. The NFC continues to be the strength of the entire league and this week will be no different.
Redskins @ Cowboys: If anyone can find the Dallas Cowboys' offense, please return it to them before Thursday's game. The Redskins are coming off a big victory over fellow NFC East rival New York Giants and look to make it two in a row against the Cowboys. The Cowboys meanwhile look to salvage what's left of the season while Jerry Jones looks to take down Roger Goodell.
Vikings @ Falcons: In one of several big NFC Playoff picture implications, the Atlanta Falcons look to continue holding on to the 6th seed with a win over the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings can put a dent in the Falcons playoff chances with a win as their quest to be the first team to reach the Super Bowl when hosting it continues in Atlanta.
Patriots @ Bills: Last week we needed the Bills to lose but they won, so with a Pats victory 99% happening, our conference rivals will help us here as long as we do our part against the Lions. The Pats look to continue trending toward a AFC East Division Title with a big game looming against Pittsburgh to determine home field advantage.
49ers @ Bears: The Jimmy Garoppolo era in San Fran is under way and he gets to start it with a big homecoming in Chicago. The Illinois native will get a chance to show he's just not another backup behind Brady and while I think he will win them games throwing the draft order a loop, the Bears may very well be saying good bye to John Fox come Monday.
Buccaneers @ Packers: Aaron Rodgers is returning early from his collarbone injury and the Packers may very well be a dark horse in the playoffs if that happens. Brett Hundley will steer the ship at least two more weeks as the Pack welcome the Bucs to the cold Lambeau Field of December.
Texans @ Titans: The Titans can help cement their AFC South title run with another divisional win here against Tom Savage and the Texans. The Titans are hoping that Indy can upset the Jaguars much like the Cardinals did last week to create some seperation in the final weeks.
Colts @ Jaguars: The ghost of Blaine Gabbert's past came back to haunt the Jaguars in a stunning upset. Jacoby Brissett hopes his offensive line won't get him killed this time around as the Jags defense sacked the QB 10 times in their first matchup. I bet Jim Irsay is calling the Packers to find out what miracle cure Aaron Rodgers has so he can give it to Andrew Luck.
Chiefs @ Jets: In a week where Eli Manning got benched, the benching everyone expected did not happen. Andy Reid is prepared to put his coaching career on the line with Alex Smith. The Jets will look to add to a disappointing second half of the season for the Chiefs who have now left the door wide open for the Chargers and Raiders.
Broncos @ Dolphins: Trevor Siemian is back under center for the Broncos following Paxton Lynch's ankle injury and all seems right with the world. Broncos may actually win this game against the Dolphins, which again would throw some winkles into the 2018 draft order.
Browns @ Chargers: The Christmas miracle of 2016, the Cleveland Browns avoided 0-16 with a win over the Chargers. Something tells me 2017 will be much different. Hue Jackson may have dreams of AJ McCarron but he's going to have put them on hold to once again beat the Chargers to potentially avoid 0-16 in 2017.
Giants @ Raiders: The Giants deserve everything that happens to them in this game for their treatment of Eli Manning. The Raiders who we thought was eliminated, is now back in playoff contention after the meltdown of the Kansas City Chiefs. The Giants should firmly grasp hold of the number two pick after Sunday.
Panthers @ Saints: New Orleans will see a battle for first place in the NFC South as the Panthers look to take back the division from the New Orleans Saints. The Saints injury woes are happening at the worst time possible, a huge loss to the Rams may have cost them a shot at a BYE, and now could cost them the NFC South if their not careful.
Rams @ Cardinals: The Rams have a firm grasp on the number 3 seed after beating the Saints on Sunday. They can't clinch the NFC West Crown yet but a win over the Cardinals will sure help. The Cardinals at 5-6 are clinging onto playoff hopes and another upset by Blaine Gabbert will keep them in the hunt.
Eagles @ Seahawks: A Eagles win against the Seahawks will clinch the NFC East, but a Cowboys loss on Thursday will clinch the NFC East Crown before Sunday. The Seahawks are now out of the playoff picture looking to get back into it before the season is done.
Steelers @ Bengals: The Steelers have a tough 3 game stretch upon them, 4 if you count the fight Green Bay brought on Sunday Night. A win here will likely make it easier to lock up the North against us in week 14 but a upset Bengals victory will keep their playoff hopes alive and help us in catching Pittsburgh for the division.
