Week 13 Discussion (Other Teams)

The holding call was real the problem is on replay they kept stopping the replay BEFORE the holding call actually happens.

Burfict on the hit!

I don't know about you guys but I loved that hit by Burfict on that Steeler. Love seeing Pittsburgh get hit hard.

so the bengals got called for a face mask on that play - but i didnt see the face mask at all and there was clear holding by multiple pittsburgh offensive players - to the extent that the bengals saw the yellow flags and were like thank you to the refs...

then found out the flag was a phantom call on them

If he were not an idiot, he'd be awesome linebacker.

i said it a couple of pages back but if i didnt know he was a scumbag and the crew didnt keep talking about him being "reformed" then id think this guy was an absolute joy to watch at linebacker - and despite everything he's kind of still great to watch in a goofy way

i think the networks realise that some of the ratings drops are due to poor officiating and so they need to call the league out on it
ive been emphasising for weeks that having only 24 full time officials in the league is embarrassing - either all the officials need to be full time or the penalties need to be reviewable - preferably both

Honestly, I think the NFL has complicated the rules so much that the officials are stuck in these kind of iffy situations way too often. Like we all know the catch rule nonsense which apparently Mike Tomlin thinks AJ Green caught a ball that is clearly incomplete and blew a timeout. If the NFL could just learn to simplify the rule book and let the players play more, we would have way less issues.

my point is that this is how the rules are - so why not increase the proficiency with which they are implemented

I agree Jo 75 wholeheartedly.
