He has the one thing no other Pats backups had when they left, coaching. He fits perfectly in Shanahan's offense.
i disagree - jimmy g had the skillset that those guys missed - when he replaced brady he didnt look serviceable he looked like the best player on the field - he has poise and balance and reads the field well and i think the best way of indicating how its not really down to being in a good situation post pats is how well he runs the no huddle - i foresee jimmy g being one of the qbs i enjoy watching the most on another team

id say jimmy g is a good template to use to assess qb play in college - he is pretty textbook for what you want in a qb (im amazed even now that he went in the 2nd round behind bortles, bridgewater, manziel - and even carr tbh)
crazy that the 2 best qbs in that class were the 4th and 5th qbs taken
