The Beatdown, The Tackling and Yet Another Injury

it is just exceedingly unfair that this play doesnt get to matter lol
unbelievable play that doesnt even really register as a footnote because this game was a complete blowout basically from this moment onwards

28 unanswered after this beautiful motion of poetry.

i think he's better outside but he's pretty good in the slot although uzomah cooked him out of the slot albeit it's tough when you're in chase down the seam with no safety help

ive just seen a clip of one of jamarr's releases and it's absolutely filthy - like obviously humphrey had a poor game but i think some are missing just how good chase is already 7 games into his career
Yeah I was noticing it every time he was on replay, he’s gonna be on the same level of superstardom as Donald/Lamar/mahomes in no time, the hype is real with this son of a bitch and I hate it

i cant get over how good he is already tbh - like he was dynamic and unreal on tape but he looked like he really would struggle against physical press corners because he seemed to not be efficient with his feet or hands getting off press in college and won by sheer force of will and by being elite adjusting to the ball at the catch-point especially deep down field - and tbf until the end of the 1st half marlon was basically in a fist-fight with him at the line of scrimmage and held him completely out of the game until it just clicked for chase in this game...

and at that point im not really sure how you stop him... like what's the weak part of his game? he's incredible at the catch-point especially when contested, he's an intelligent route-runner, he's a supreme athlete, he's a physical and dynamic and balanced runner after the catch, and now it seems he's put in the work on his releases which was like the one downside to his game

like at this point what do you ding him for? not being 6'4 i guess but who cares when he's that amazing and a bully when the ball's in the air

and looking at the schedule for this year im not sure he faces a tougher corner than marlon the rest of the way

and some will call this hyperbole but im not sure there's a better WR in the NFL right now on current form - certainly playing up there with the elite guys at the position (this is how i see it):

Tier 1 (in any order):
Chase
Davante Adams
Tyreek

Tier 2 (in any order):
DJ Moore
Kupp
Deebo Samuel
D Hop
Diggs
Hollywood
McLaurin
Jefferson
Ridley

think there's some other guys in the next tier down who could elevate and guys in this tier who could drop but this is based on current form as i see them right now

they used our own good film study habits to beat us on this play lol

Yeah, the Bengals got the Discount Double Check. All the Ravens got is Humpf and Faff. Humpf sure looked like he missed his Discount Double Check on that one. Wasn't the only one either. He's most definitely a Strong Safety and most definitely Not a Corner. You don't want too many things going through Humpfs mind during a play. Same for Faff. I'm not much of a fan of this years two high picks either.

Where were you during our 5 game winning streak?

I thought chase was than jefferson at lsu.. however, jefferson has surprised the fk outta me with how good he played last season. Both their games literally transferred to the nfl level. Like some calvin johnson shit. No S help or not, hump shouldnt be getting cooked by uzomah like that.

HarHarBaugh said, "A week ago, we’re being crowned the best ever and we’re sitting there saying 'Whoa, whoa, it’s one week."
Whoa whoa whoa, who said "the best ever"? That's funny. Very funny.

Chargers played a game without continuity. The true reflection of the current Ravens is the Bengals, Lions and Colts games. The Ravens clearly have problems with their corner play. That needs rectified first. They need help on O Line and D line. The running backs are inferior. Faff is going to have to learn when its time to throw. Moving Humpf to Strong Safety should have happened a year ago, but even there he's going to have to also become more play aware.

Currently the Ravens are a technical 2nd in the division. But its not likely to end that way at his pace.

Tell me you don't know football without telling me you don't know football...

I knew at the time that both teams saw something on film and the bengals played chess, it not a miscommunication when 3 players jump on a screen leaving the TE up the seam, that was obviously planned

maybe we trade for Morgan Moses, but the jets would have to eat a lot of his salary.
I'd certainly take him. What about picking up a better running back ? Im ok with Murray and thats it. Bell simply doesn't fit our running scheme . Freeman has lost a ton of speed .

I saw a breakdown on the plays where Marlon actually covered Chase and besides the long TD, he was really held in check by Marlon. The long TD Humphrey got taken out by his own guy. Why would we put our best corner at strong safety?

And while Lamar didn’t play his best game and reverted to some bad tendencies that we see in our losses, I don’t think he deserves to be called FaFF. Imagine if he had Chase and Mixon?

I never understood anyone disliking Jefferson as a prospect, he’s in the same exact mold of a davante Adams, as is rashod Bateman tbh.

chase though? I don’t see any comps, he is his own monster, he’s got some TO, some boldin, some megatron to his game, he’s a rare talent.

We have some good weapons over here.. the days of people saying saying “ what if he has tyreke and kelce” or “ diggs” and all that bs is over..
