(troll post.. don’t ban me please)

Just finished watching the new Wired and we have some really impressive rookies. Just touching on a few...

Charlie Kolar - not sure how his football career will play out but he seems like the type of guy that could be a coach one day if he wants to. His film breakdown at the combine was impressive. Big and lumbering to an extent but really understands the nuance of the game and articulates it really well.

Jalyn Armour-Davis - giving us some insight into his pre-draft meeting with the scouts was incredible. Such a mature and humble young man. I can see instantly why they fell in love with this kid. I loved him based on his play on the field but after seeing that, go ahead and make me the president of his fan club. Wow.

Damarion Williams - fits the stereotype of a guy that grew up with not much more than family and football and that really showed in such a short segment. The passion for the game just bleeds out and the personality is so infectious. His dog mentality is clearly the reason why whatever scout loved him so much, and should fit well as he moves into more of a slot role.

Shemar Bridges - not that they talked about him a ton, but felt it was noteworthy how they included him in the video where virtually no other UDFA was talked about. Mentioned he was picking it up the most (along with Bolden) and have to say I'm not surprised based on his profile.
Slade bolden is a real blue collar guy, he brings his lunch pail and goes to work, he’s quicker than he is fast, and does all the little things right, first one in and last one out.

In other words, he’s an unathletic white receiver

The coaches were RAVING about likely in the new wired episode. Greg Roman and the TE coach kept going back and forth about how impressed they’ve been in his practices

felt like he and godsey were getting excited about what he can be - was notable that he's behind kolar from a play-book and offensive knowledge standpoint but i think they're kind of excited about the fact that he's got room to grow

Remember I asked a while ago can Stephens play CB and everyone was like no. Well Harbs thinks he can. I hope for our sakes Harbs is right and we're all wrong. But I'm skeptical

tbf he's played more years at corner than he has at safety
i think the ceiling for him is probably higher at safety but it's not like there's any athletic reason he can't play corner

the armour-davis stuff was the most interesting stuff in that whole video to me
you can see why they were so high on him - he's confident, comfortable in his skin but also clearly intelligent

was definitely noteworthy that they mentioned bridges and bolden - but also important to contextualise in that they seemed to be talking about how quickly they were picking things up (playbook etc.) which is good to know but also probably not indicative of how well they do in august through training camp (more notable with bridges because he's a smaller-school type whereas you should almost expect it of bolden given he's a Bama guy who played special teams in college)

Agreed on that last point. Just found it interesting those two were included in the episode that was focused solely on the draft guys outside of that quick segment.

Well after seeing Boykins stadium practice I have to remember to pay absolutely no fucking mind to practice hype
My question is who will be the new Miles Boykin, Jermey Butler, Tim White practice stud...

Rumor has it, Bill Belichick had the perfect OC in mind to be pair with Slade. But when he found out Slade chose the Ravens, Bill decided to punt on the 2022 season.

Bridges is 6'5" - 210 lol. He's huge. Watched a quick video of him on YouTube. Looked unbelievably slow to me lol.

Something about it looked like a high school football game rather than college. Ultra small school guy.

Browns gave david 58 million? Im guessing they know the talent he has amd with watson, they think they can possibly get it out of him.. could be well worth more than that after this season with watson……. Or browns just dumb af

Browns Dumb AF... giving him more than we gave Andrews and Njoku is nowhere near Andrews level.
Ehh, devil is in the details.
He got significantly less guaranteed money than Andrews. He's got less guaranteed money than Jonnu Smith.
Looks like a fairly standard contract for me.
AAV is kind of for suckers these days. It's just for show.

I have a feeling Hamton will be our most productive rookie first rounder in a little while.

Hurst not so great.
Lamar was great but didn't start right away.
Hollywood was ok but not amazing
Queen was up and down
Bateman was ok not amazing also was injured
Oweh started really strong and faded

Hamilton should be in a really strong secondary and an overall good position to succeed

once Lamar played he was good and in 2019 he was MVP. Stanley was also good from the get go and Hollywood wasn't 100% and only played in 1 pre season game due to his injury. I do believe Hamilton will be extremely productive, but I also believe Linderbaum is going to outperform as well.

Oh I realize I didn't say exactly what I wanted to. I was specifically talking about their rookie years. Of course Lamar is a crazy good player.

Yeah I think you're right you have to go back to Stanley to get a guy who was super good right away.

I have high hopes for Linderbaum too but I just have a hunch he takes an enormous step between year 1 and 2.
