The 2022 Offseason Thread

One coach I'd like to see here is Dante Bartee from southern miss. I know he's only their qc guy but i recently came across his coaching clinc. Smart coach

Things are about to get spicy IMO with Hues allegations.

I'm giving the Browns credit here. They basically just came out and said "hey we fired Hue midseason and then went 5-3 after that. If we wanted to lose, we'd have just kept Hue."

i mean tbf - they also kept him for a 3rd season after he had 1 win in 2 years... as pithy as that kind of response is it's not entirely absolving them necessarily

EDC talking about how covid and the injuries ruined their in-season flexibility

basically said there were some trades we could have made in the season but basically the injuries made those deals prohibitive because of what it did to our cap flexibility

talked about the fact that we wont mortgage the future for short-term benefit (and talked about there being specific mechanisms that they just will not put in contracts - i imagine one of those things he was referring to is void years)

1st very excited for how the defense looks next year. 2nd... Jesus we have a a bunch of dumb fans if you watch the comments in the presser

the whole section of him talking about anthony levine was really awesome for anyone wanting to watch the presser (who isnt right now)

EDC clearly a little disappointed with the way the season went when talking about the depth of the roster they built - said it's pretty clear just how deep the roster was (especially at corner) because they were able to make trades and they had guys get claimed - had a lot of guys in camp who ended up playing for other teams which is testament to the depth they had during training camp

they just didnt have the mechanisms to keep all of those guys

i have a feeling nigel warrior's one of the guys he's most hindsight regretful to lose

I love listening to EDC talk. He’s the one that says a lot but still says nothing at all sometimes, but the journey to get there is so insightful.
