I marvel at the authority with which you speak and write on every topic, my friend! It almost seems to me you are an attorney that has tried a lot of these kinds of cases, or in some instances an NFL GM and in other instances, just a wise man beyond his years. I've read most of the Earl Stanley Gardner's Perry Mason novels growing up as well as plenty of John Grisham novels. I couldn't even pretend to have this kind of knowledge. Bravo

I mean... it was more like 5 minutes of internet research.
The DA in Texas already publicly stated why they couldn't follow through with criminal processes, and civil cases aren't going to end up with prison time. So what is there left to talk about?

Well if the criminal justice system isn't going to make it required, who's going to? Truth is he's going to pay out millions in monetary "fines" and settlements for this. That'll be a much better deterrent than some shrink charging him $500/hour to talk about his feelings ever will, and it's much, much, much better "reform" than any prison stint would give him either.
Prison is a deterrent and a punishment. It's not rehabilitation.

lol OK. I'm mostly just curious because the Ravens have at least two pretty gigantic big fat stains on our "how to not handle off-field situations well" resume, and I'd argue both were more significant than Watson's is. Obviously leadership really couldn't have botched the Ray Rice situation more than they did (though the NFL is complicit too).
But most importantly, the face of the franchise (literally) was, at a minimum, heavily involved in a double homicide, very clearly destroyed and hid evidence, cut a deal to roll over on his "friends", and then paid monetary settlements to multiple of the victims families in civil cases.
And the Ravens response was to pay him another $80M or so for the next decade plus and put a statue of him out in front of the stadium.
So if I were a Browns fan, I'm getting quite the chuckle at the thought process that they're the only "trash" in this division.

he just is a pro already i think - it's a real shame he got injured after 4 snaps because i think he could have really kicked on and earned himself some snaps if he'd stayed healthy

Screws over the Bengals too, it helps Burrow got them to the Super Bowl but that contract made it worse.
Hopefully the NFL announces the punishment soon. The NFL if they truly hate what the Browns did....
- Indefinite Suspension of Deshaun Watson. Can apply for reinstatement after 2 years.
- Force the Haslams to sell the team.
- Fine and Suspend GM Andrew Berry for 1 year
- Take away Additional Draft Picks
- No New Stadium
- Force Cleveland to take the bulk of Watson's contract this season and next season, meaning no $1M cap hit this year.
- First ever 0-17 Team

LOL yeah there isn't a single item on that list that isn't a gross over-reaction to the situation.
And obviously not a single one of those things is going to happen. Not the Browns or the NFL's job to cover for the legal systems failures.

The only thing the Brownies did was make a trade for a player; a potentially bad trade given the degree of douchebaggery Watson was up to. But that's a buyer beware situation and they knew it. The most that will happen to them is Douche-awn will never play a down for them and they'll lose all of that draft capital. Even a lifetime ban is mere wishful thinking on our part. Watson gets 6 games to a year suspension and, with no other infractions, he plays football after the penalty is served.

You might have watched these inside the draft videos before, but it's still interesting to see how the GMs think and behave differently. You can also see why some GMs are not as good as the others and how some HC have a say even though they shouldn't lol. I also like these private combine interview snippets and how each team has a different setup.
