The 2022 Offseason Thread

lol OK. I'm mostly just curious because the Ravens have at least two pretty gigantic big fat stains on our "how to not handle off-field situations well" resume, and I'd argue both were more significant than Watson's is. Obviously leadership really couldn't have botched the Ray Rice situation more than they did (though the NFL is complicit too).

But most importantly, the face of the franchise (literally) was, at a minimum, heavily involved in a double homicide, very clearly destroyed and hid evidence, cut a deal to roll over on his "friends", and then paid monetary settlements to multiple of the victims families in civil cases.

And the Ravens response was to pay him another $80M or so for the next decade plus and put a statue of him out in front of the stadium.

So if I were a Browns fan, I'm getting quite the chuckle at the thought process that they're the only "trash" in this division.
Ray rice and what else? Thats only one that could be worse or equal to watson situation… oh shit my dumbass… but naw lewis situation wasnt as bad imo.. i didnt know he took a deal to sell out his boys though dam… ray a bitch

LOL yeah there isn't a single item on that list that isn't a gross over-reaction to the situation.

And obviously not a single one of those things is going to happen. Not the Browns or the NFL's job to cover for the legal systems failures.
Hey, we can all hope, can't we? Don't be a Debbie downer dude.

I know who I'm putting this on...

I'm going to need to know the whereabouts of a certain poster this morning

So what actually happens to Fergs contract? Like if he had guaranteed money would it go to his family?
He didn't have any guaranteed money left. Only guaranteed money he got was his signing bonus, which I imagine was paid already.

Entirely possible Steve just pays out his salary for this year, which should have been like $900K or whatever. Doubt you'll hear about it publicly.

Family should be more fortunate than others, luckily. He was in the last year of his deal, and so he's already made like $2.7M in the last three years.
