I'm hoping if Hess continues to do well, that Tillman won't take his spot when he's healthy.

The reason I was in favor of signing Tillman for this season is because he didn't cost that much. It was worth the gamble, but unfortunately it didn't work out.

Watched about five minutes of the Nats/Braves game last night. Nick Markakis is hitting .333! Yeah, Dan & Peter, don't give Nick that 4th year on the contract. We've had no stability in right field since he left. Stupid. And no, I will never get over this. This is just part of the reason we suck like we do.

You are correct that Tillman was a low risk move. I hope that they leave Hess in the rotation and not bring Tillman up to replace him.

I feel we need to make changes as soon as possible, unfortunately we cannot change the owners. With the draft coming up this week I doubt we would make a management change until next week. I am not a fan of Duquette and it is time for him to move on. I respect Buck Showalter but the play on the field has gotten so sloppy a manager change could happen soon.
The big change I want the owners to make is to let baseball people make baseball decisions. The Angelos family’s style of management is handicapping the Orioles. The Angelos’ reluctance to fully participate in signing international players is ridiculous. The new international signing period begins July 2nd and the Orioles allocation is $ 5.5M. Hopefully this year the O’s will not trade away portions of that allocation for minor league retreads.

No doubt that Angelos has been a disaster. I can remember when he first bought the team, we all rejoiced that a Baltimorean was going to take ownership after years of poor management from out of towners .. and the constant fear of team relocation that goes along with it. That cannot be understated, as the loss of the Colts was still fresh in our minds.
The man is 88. For God sakes, Peter, let it go. Of course, we'd love for him to sell, but unfortunately, he has offspring. It would appear there will be no sale and it will be passed down instead. If they follow his model, then I guess we can expect this style of unsuccessful ownership for the foreseeable future.
Even if his sons have a different approach and can operate successfully, the structure of baseball will not allow us to compete for a championship, unless we catch lightening in a bottle. Even then, we'll be like many of the other teams in our market space .... that is, contend for a 2-3 year period and then wave goodbye to our stars as they sign with the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers or Angels.
So - while there was a time when baseball was my #1 favorite sport, the direction taken by my team and by the sport has left me indifferent. Given where our team stands now and that the league will NEVER bring true competitive parity (MLB union rules the world), I don't see giving a shit about MLB for ... well, potentially the rest of my days.

I was talking to a buddy last night and he told me about a caller on the FAN that suggested we could give Machado away for free as long as they took Davis too. At first I was like ehhhh, stupid idea but now its growing on me cuz we can get a serious albatross off our necks. Anybody like this idea? I'd even add a minor leaguer if I had to.
Say we can do this then 1st thing I would be doing is shopping Schoop since next year we would be in the same boat as we was with Manny. See if we can either resign Jones or trade him. I would seriously give him the option out of respect and if we do keep him and don't resign him you have to offer him that tender that gives us a draftpick when the season is over. I would be interested in trading Cashner and some of our relievers also.

It would be great deal if we could get some team to take Chris Davis and his contract for Manny. Sadly I don’t see another team willing to do it. Davis is in the 3rd year of a 7 year $ 161M dollar contract. That seems too high of a price for a couple months of Manny.
