Well normally I like to wait longer than 1 1/2 games to judge a players talent especially when for most of that play he had really good coverage until making a rookie mistake, but your way works too I guess
 
For those who actually know to care about your top of the half of the first round draft pick… Hamilton looks a lot like a 6’4” version of Matt Elam to me

A rookie mistake made by a back half of the first round player maybe, a second rounder maybe

He's not going to be our starter. Expect him to have around 20 snaps per game. Yes he can make mistakes during those plays but he'll also probably make some good plays too.

Tonight he has half as many missed tackles as last game. He has one coverage on a scramble drill that showed some rookiness.

He's gonna keep getting better and better. I'm not worried about him in the slightest.

yes... he had great coverage then in a scramble situation with the QB starting to run, came off his man when he shouldn't have

this is what the preseason is for - making these kinds of mistakes in situations that are hard to simulate in practice
 
They're constantly moving him around and to me has shown good instincts. I think when the game slows down to him he'll be fine and I think that will be by mid season.

and guess what... he's unlikely gonna be left 1v1 vs shifty slot guys in man coverage like that often
