NBA Thread

While Irving isn't a good defender, IT is basically WORSE in that regard. It may look like a fleece, but if HeGone James leaves again (which I totally think he will), the Cavs can also say goodbye to IT as well since he was hellbent on getting a max next season. I don't see how CLE can offer him a max.
You're forgetting the lottery pick they added from the NBA's premium lolcow the Nets. There's a good chance that it's the number one overall pick and they can take another potential star. If there's anything that can entice Lebron to stay, it might be that. Thomas himself is a star, Crowder can take the other team's best offensive player on the defense ala Curry and Klay in Golden State. They might be able to trade Love, who's a defensive liability despite the fact that he's a pretty good player.

Cavs need some work if they want to beat the Warriors. This was honestly a step in the right direction. The team is now better than they were last season because they acquired Crowder, a player they desperately needed, and I think Rose could be a good piece coming off the bench.

I am going to enjoy watching Lebron murderstomp Kyrie in the playoffs though.

They need Derrick Rose to come off the bench and play well because Mo Williams was non-existent in the finals last year.

They could get another potential star........just as much as they get a potential dud (see Anthony Bennett). IT is definitely a star, but he can't be one when he's not playing. There are reports saying he could miss up until the All-Star break with this hip injury. God forbid Derrick Rose gets hurt......again.

All of this being said, I got the Cavs beating the Cs in 6.

That's a hell of a trade. But I don't want to know how three ball dominant players work together. Westbrook and Paul George is something I could see working since George could thrive off ball. But add Melo in there and I could see the "too many cooks only one kitchen" scenario.

It's like having three QBs and not knowing who is going to make the pass

I don't know how OKC will mesh when it counts most. I really don't. But I hope it's GSW vs. OKC in the WCF since my Blazers won't be able to shit against the Warriors......again.

Olympics.....he balls out. Regular season? Ehh..... I don't know man, I really don't.
I'm telling you. He's gonna fist fight Westbrook. I could see George and Westbrook working. Hell, if they got like Kevin Love that would fucking work since Westbrook and Love played together in college.. But Melo?

I would pay to see that shit, but I could see some moments where one of these guys will start bitching about the team as a whole. I'm honestly surprised that Westbrook hasn't signed that supermax deal yet.

He's waiting for the right moment for the fans to accept that the thunder are hopeless so he can acceptably fuck off to LA.

PG wants to play for the Lakers, Russ is too alpha to join someone elses superteam let alone the Lakers who have rookie distributor and nothing else.
