There's also something to be said about the wear and tear of playing in 5 years. I'm not saying that the Warrior's aren't hungry to win another one, but it's clear that it's not as there compared to what it once was. In addition, after years and YEARS of crashing into the "Lebron" wall, the Raptors have a player who is dependable on crunch time.I think if Leonard closes this series out that puts him above Steph and KD all time, and solidifies his status as one of the 15 greatest players in NBA history. This would be the second 3-peat that he busted, and the second finals MVP. Sure, he lacks the regular season MVPs that Curry and Durant have, but Curry was outshined that year vs. the cavs in the NBA finals, and Durant’s MVP amounted to nothing. Durant’s finals MVPs have been jokes, he took down two teams that stood no chance.
“But KD isn’t there”. The Warriors on paper are much better still even without him and have a better coach. The second best player for the raptors this series has been Siakam. Even though Klay and others have been banged up, Klay has been money this series and Looney isn’t big enough of an impact player to truly affect them. Cousins wasn’t much of a factor to their success anyways. Draymond has been Draymond. They’re just getting outplayed. Sure, injuries have made some impact and KD being here would’ve made it a different series, but most people including myself though the Warriors would still take this without him. Leonard has been a stud.
Toronto’s star, Lowry, has been trash, and the rest of the team is just a bunch of really good role players. Leonard has been elite on both sides of the floor this series and has outplayed Steph and Klay respectively.
Close the damn series out Leonard. Don’t go down as a choker
Like the Raptors did last night, the Warriors MUUUUUUSSSTTTT keep it close on Monday otherwise I think they suffer the same fate the Heat did in their game 5 against the Spurs.
