2018 College Football Thread

After beating Auburn 52-21 on Saturday, Alabama capped off its weekend by landing three ESPN Junior 300 commitments in the 2020 class.

The biggest commit of the group is defensive end Chris Braswell, who is ranked No. 10 overall in the 2020 class. Braswell, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound prospect from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, is the No. 3 defensive end overall and the highest ranked commitment in the class.

^^ from ESPN ^^

Any of you Baltimore guys know something about this dude?

Watched a couple of championship games last night switching back and forth.

The 1st one was a serious nailbiter betwenn North Illinois and Buffalo where NI came from a 19 pt deficit to win by 1. Very exciting. A couple guys caught my eye. Sutton Smith an OLB from NI was all over the field and looks blike he could be a mid rd steal and Anthony Johnson a WR from Buff made some nice catches but dropped a critical one right at the end for a td so I was like damn but still seems like a nice prospect. The QB from Buff looked like Lurch from Addams family but threw a nice ball.

The PAC 12 game was the other one and man what a defensive battle it ended 10-3 with the only td being a defensive one lol. A guy I really noticed was #99 Gerg Gaines of Washington. @JoeyFlex5 you might want to take a look at this guy if he's draft eligible. Nimble feet for a big man with good change of direction and constantly providing passrush. Totally impressed. Lot of good defensive players on both sides just too many to name. Kirkland and McGary on right side of Washington line also looked impressive.

Probally gonna miss the day games (sad face insert here, wheres the f'n emojis @purplepittabread88 ) and then wth Pitt/Clemson and Ohio St/NW on at same time. Total BS. Definitely catching Alabama/Georgia game. Highly excited to watch the RBs. The players in this game what is there gonna be 8 at least in 1st rd of NFL draft. Wouldn't shock me.

I’ve always had a strange bias for Washington defenders lol I’ll check him out.

Edit: first impressions, definitely quick as hell for a man his size, but surprisingly lacks stoutness and push, he looks like he should be pushing pocket and eating gaps, but if he’s not penetrating he’s not doing much. Needs to bend the waist, lower the pads, and churn the feet more. Too many stalemates at the line.

Like that quickness and disengage ability though, looks like a 0T but plays like a more finesse 3T, maybe a guy who should shed some weight and highlight those quick feet. He’s.... interesting, I’ll watch more

This is my first time watching Murray live and goddamn he’s electric. His run game is crazy shifty and he accelerates fast as hell

I’ve changed my mind big time on Raekwon Davis. He’s struggled this year from everything I’ve seen. On film I see him blowing gap assignments constantly and he just did it to give up that Georgia TD
