Lamar Jackson

For me it just seems like there's an unbridgeable gap between what deal Lamar will take vs what the Ravens will offer. I don't think it's going to change.

I'll be happy if I'm wrong, and if I'm right then I hope he's amazing on his new team and they give him a better situation than we did.

i just dont see it that way at all
they were clearly getting closer and the ravens offered him their biggest offer yet just before week 1

i think lamar would take 200m guaranteed
the ravens offered him 133m fully guaranteed but reportedly between 160-180m in total guarantees

i feel pretty confident if that guaranteed number starts to approach 200m, that he'll sign

I've no interest in seeing Carr in Baltimore, even if the worst happens with Lamar. He's very over-rated. He can go on nice runs, where he throws accurate passes, but he also goes ice cold, for halves, games, weeks or months at a time and becomes impossible to win with. He also freezes whenever he gets hit or faces a good pass rusher (Like TJ or Garrett).

I think you can get that level of QB play for a lot cheaper than Derek Carr is ever going to cost.

id also like to steer clear of meaningless mediocrity again lol

I think they are very close and he'll sign the deal before the start of training camp. Or do you think he decides to wait for what Burrow and the Bungles do?

if he waits until the start of training camp it hurts us in 2023
if we want this team to be competing for a super bowl in 2023 then we need to get him signed in the next couple of months

it's in his interest to wait for another couple of deals
it's in the ravens best interest to get it done before free agency

ravens would have to be super confident that lamar would sign a long-term deal before July when the negotiating window ends and he's on the tag - not sure the ravens can risk that so it'll have to be a supremely quiet free agency period just in case

I could be wrong but I don't recall the media paying this much attention to the Ravens (outside of Ray Rice)

How quickly many in the media have turned on the Ravens as an organization for the way they have handled the offense and for not paying Lamar.

Because of the mind boggling display of disrespect after what Lamar did over 5 years as a Raven. But it's probably no wonder after the lack of respect the Ravens showed. We sank into total obscurity as a franchise before he started winning and saving jobs along the way.
I agree with you half sure, but the organization always committed there blueprint to him. We build the 1st and 4th best rushing offense ever, asked him what wr he wanted and got him (hollywood), spent another first on Bateman, attempted to trade for Hopkins, poured assets into wr and online, signed a multi million fullback, extended his best option Andrews and so so much more.

I hate the narrative we failed Lamar. were we perfect? No. Is it fair for fans to be upset that we have no idea what is going on - wether he really doesn't heal well from injuries, or is upset about the contract? I think yes.

To me, this injury feels like a lose lose. Either he is abnormally slow at recovering from injuries, or he is better and doesn't want to play. neither of that news can be good.

It's due to the situation with our former MVP Quarterback Lamar Jackson and possibly his contract situation.

the board is coming along nicely so far

Always appreciate the work you put into it each year

Much appreciated.

I have a friend who watches college ball who I'll listen to and @rossihunter2 . I don't start watching film study until he releases his boards and will check who my friend mentions. Makes the process easy for someone who only watches NFL.

Not happy to hear the WR class is lacking. I was going to ask how the class looked. Any pound the table guys yet?

only 12 players in (all WRs lol) and it's far too early to say

there's just so many questions about all the top WRs and there's no really clean prospects at the position - a fair few guys i like and i have no idea what the rest of the class looks like at other positions so may change my mind obviously - but not really foreseeing how a WR would be BPA when we pick in R1 at least
