Lamar Jackson

In my mind, the best QBs in the league are ranked this way:
1. Lamar Jackson
2. Josh Allen
3. Mahomes
4. Stroud
5. Burrow
6. Lawrence
7. Herbert (hopefully, with a better coach).

At the time I made this post, it was reported that no teams reached out to Lamar. It has since been reported that 2 did but it was more of a due diligence thing.
OK, and why is that unreasonable? For starters, these "reports" don't have flawless accuracy. There's a lot of shit that happens in this league that never gets reported. Many things the public finds out about months or years later. Public is a good 2+ months behind on realizing the Broncos decided to move on from Wilson months ago.

Most importantly, again, there's no purpose in "reaching out" if you already know what the answer is. You know what the "lets talk" price is, you know what the Ravens will do, and you know what the consequences are of even trying.

AND, even if we get to the point where the consensus is the Owners actually did collude to make sure another QB didn't get a fully gtd deal, that would 100% be justified. There's collusion among Owners, GMs, players, agents, etc. on the regular in this league. And the one player who has the long-term, fully gtd deal, looks like a total disaster of a contract at this point.

You’re right I’m wrong so sorry sir

I'm still not expecting Lamar to win unanimously. There will be a clique of voters that will (somewhat correctly) cry foul that Lamar is only MVP because of a historically weak field and they will deny him the exclusive unanimous based on that alone. I can't deny that in a normal year lamar would finish 3rd or 4th, CMC would finish like 5th and Dak would maybe get a handful of 5th place votes. They are going to finish a solid 1-2-3.
Only Lamar and Tom Brady have won MVP unanimously.

Holy shit Richard Sherman still says he’s not mvp lmao

Edit ok; he’s saying split it Lamar and CMC
That is an awful take. CMC is not even MVP of the 49ers offense and I will show why. CMC had a great game against the Ravens. He looked great… and their offense was bad. If you are truly the MVP, when you are playing well, you should be able to carry your unit and he cannot.

there was definitely reporting of the 37m in guaranteed money that hit airwaves back in early October, so they absolutely new this atleast a few months ago.

Right, but that was mostly just reporters speculating about why the Broncos might try to get out of it after the season. I didn't see any reports confirming that the team went to Wilson's agent and basically threatened to bench him if he didn't restructure the bonus.

That happened over two months ago, and the public didn't know it happened until this past week, when they actually benched Russell.

I don’t really hate on Tua like most. I think he is a really good Qb when healthy. Hill is such a game changer though, immediately elevates any QB he is playing with.
I think the pendulum has swung too far on Tua. He's clearly a talented quarterback. Processes well and has really good accuracy. I just don't think he's got the best arm talent or the ability to create heavily off script.

I do think it's not a coincidence he took off with Hill and Waddle, but I do think he's a solid quarterback that any team would be happy to build around. You could do A LOT worse.

This is put perfectly which is why if anyone from the Dolphins should win MVP(they shouldn't, it's Lamar's), it's Tyreek

i think allen has, across the season, been the 2nd best QB in the NFL - the only thing he's had issues with is some turnovers - if we're not gonna penalise lamar for early season fumbles then hard to penalise allen for early season interceptions

he and lamar are also the only 2 guys in the league, who when they're on their game, have a higher ceiling than mahomes because of what they can do as 2 way quarterbacks

Hi Rossi! I agree with your stance on Allen and Lamar having higher ceilings than Mahomes. However, I note that you said that Allen had early season INT issues. It is worth pointing out that this issue has carried on all season long. Last game, 0 TDs to 1 INT. With the exception of the game against the Cowboys, he has had at least 1 INT since October 8 (October 8!). Thus, this INT issue has been an ongoing, all season long issue, not just early season.

Not to mention that Elijah Mitchell came in and played just as good as CMC with a TD against the Commanders this past week. So it is the offensive system.

Helpful to contextualize those INTs based on when/where they occurred in the game, as well as whether those INTs are on Allen vs his pass-catchers. There are numerous interceptions where Allen did everything he should do on the play.

Also good to point out that INTs, as a raw number, are generally meaningless. Quite frankly, throwing 17 INTs in a season isn't all that bad when you take into account passing volume. He's going to finish with close to 600 pass attempts this year. If you look at the QBs that are in the 2-3% INT rate range, it's a who's who of QBs, including Allen, Mahomes, Tua, Purdy, Stafford, Goff, Hurts, and Lawrence.

That's true! Interceptions are typically a WRs fault, which is why Jameis shouldn't be penalized for his 33 INT season, it was on his receivers. Additionally, Favre shouldn't be knocked too much for his INT record, as that was Greg Jennings and Donald Driver's faults as well.

Well not really, but people that blame INTs only on QBs are doing lazy analysis. Helps to actually review the plays, watch games, etc.
If a QB throws an INT at the end of the game on a Hail Mary, is that really a bad thing?

You're right. INTs are misleading
