Lamar Jackson

Just browsing through that QBR table, I wouldn't have believed that 5 of the top 10 QBR ratings ever belonged to Ravens QBs! Who would even believe that? 3 best QBRs for Lamar, 1 for McNair and the 10th Joe Flacco against the Buccaneers (we all remember the 5 TD explosion he had in that game and that was his best game as a Raven ever).

michael campanaro playing the role of hollywood brown in that game on that last td (might have been the 4th...)

With Lamar spreading the ball around to Roberts, Boykin, Snead and Hollywood as well as the TEs I think our offense is going to be even tougher to defend as it gets more diverse.

Both SNF and MNF games proclaimed to be Lamar's "coming out party". For some, maybe, but for those who follow closely ...

Here's that moment for me. Seattle 3rd and 10 and a delay penalty that sent Lamar into a frenzy. 3rd and 15 and the call is a QB run - like f-it boys, I'm puttin ya'll on my back. 13 yards and a 4th and 2 and the now famous "Hell yeah lets go for it, Coach". Result: a 7-yard TD run .. momentum, Ravens.

It's like a switch flipped that moment. He had been gradually getting better, but that moment he shifted into warp speed. Now we're wondering how high that meteor can go.

Yeah, clearly the moment. Harbaugh let Lamar know he has 100% support and trust. Just completely released the last bit of doubt from Lamar's mind.

I firmly believe that Harbaugh set that moment up intentionally. I really think it was an opportunity to show that trust. It was like the manager that comes to the mound and asks his pitcher, "You good to go?". They know the answer is going to be yes, but they want to see how they say yes. Lamar gave Harbaugh that emphatic response he was hoping for.

Not sure where the analytics sat on whether that was a clear go, but I felt like that was a Harbaugh go moment anyhow. He just made it Lamar's choice.

Maybe I'm giving him credit and that's not the reality of the situation. It just feels like it to me. If it was, it was a masterful use of coach psychology.

Nah, you're right - it was 100% Harbaugh. It just wasn't premeditated, he was weighing options (Lamar cut the field from 3&15 to 4&2) and saw Lamar's face going out. He said that himself and you can see it on film. It was the right moment from all points of view.

Agree with this. You look for a turning point throughout the season and this has to be it. Entering the tough part of the schedule after escaping a game with the winless bengals. Facing a 4th down and I think that moment flipped a switch that was laying dormant between Harbs and Lamar. you follow that up by knocking down the Texans, Patriots, and Rams.

Have to look back on that moment and believe it was the start of something.

I completely agree. That was the moment he became Lamar Jackson for me. It’s like he elevated himself and willed himself and the team to greatness at that moment. Almost as if his belief in himself propelled.
