Lamar Jackson

im not arguing with you about motion - i agree that we use too many tight formations and then reduce our pass route depth further again with motion and that we should be opening up teams by spreading them out where possible with 11 personnel and maybe even going empty in that personnel with JK if we can match him up on a LB

what im talking about is a combination of pre-play and mid-play route adjustments (not scrambles) - it's improvisational by andrews and hollywood when they do it because it's not pre-ordained... they're given licence to find the space on the field and lamar has to read their intentions... but they're not designed choice routes and they're not scrambles - it's times when andrews or hollywood break off from their designed route based on the coverage they experience and find the space

We agree on the formations but why do you believe he is going to change it? It’s just not happening at this point in his career. When push comes to shove he is going back to what he does best. And to be fair that’s a pretty damn good run game using unique formations , but it’s played out here in Baltimore. Just like it has in his previous stops.

We got some serious talent at the skill positions and it just feels like they are going to waste

but change what? Heavy personnel usage?

Absolutely. Roman’stendency for heavier personnel groupings limits what we can do in the passing game. We see way too many two-receiver formations vs a 11 personnel (one back, one tight end, and three receivers). We have the personnel to stress defenses vertically but we aren't taking advantage.

Lamar’s not without fault, especially during that 5 game stretch when we averaged 16PPG, but he is very capable of running a true open pro-style offense.

That’s where Roman absolutely has to evolve, nobody disputed that, just that options for players to adapt their routes are totally there for the ravens offense.

In case anyone is wondering, in Cincinnati the consensus is Joe burrow got the bengals to the super bowl in his 2nd year and Lamar has not done so, and he is basically a scrub compared to Burrow

source - was just out at the bars in downtown Cincinnati

I mean i cant blame them for thinking that way.. at one point ravens were calling lamar a better qb than mahommes, and rodgers.

Bengal fans have always been cocky, when the Ravens are good we’re all reserved still because we know how hard it is to win a super bowl and what it feels like to fall short with a great team. Bengal fans were like this with Andy Dalton in 2014, it’s just going to be on a different level. Please god Rams, finish this

I cannot watch. As much as I want the Rams to win, I want them to win so badly, I can't bear to see the Bungles winning a fucking SB! Ever!
it's a bad matchup for the Bungles. I don't see them winning. I'm calling it now, Donald and Stafford should be SB MVP candidates
