If Lamar wins a SB, whatever he's asking for now, the Ravens will pay. If he increases his offer, he probably won't get it.
Here's the reality for me... Mahomes has done more. Can argue all day of the subjectivity of "better weapons, better coaching", etc., but it doesn't really matter. He won an MVP, and he played in two SBs, winning one, before he signed his extension.
His extension was at $45M AAV, with like 30% guaranteed money.
The guaranteed money is ridiculously low, agreed. Wilson got like 2/3 guaranteed, Josh Allen got like 60% guaranteed, Kyler got 82% guaranteed.
If he's asking for 100% guaranteed on anything above like a 3-4 year deal, I don't think the Ravens will ever give it to him. Not even with a Lombardi. Like it or not, I think that's the reality. And I don't blame the franchise one bit for it.
I think asking for $50M AAV is realistic. I think asking for 5-6 years is realistic. I think asking for probably 80% of it guaranteed may be realistic. If he's not in that ballpark, he'll get tagged, and that's that.
