Lamar Jackson

This part. Not sure why it isnt painfully obvious that unless you were born at midnight on new years day, you can be two different ages in the same year.

Yes ok but here’s an example. So 2017-2022, 5 years. I’m 29 this year. I was 23 before May 13, 2017. I turned 24 on that date. I was 28 before May 13, 2022 this year. Then I turned 29. Either way you slice it, homeboy, that’s 5 year’s difference.

The smart thing to do from a business point of view is to use the non-exclusive tag and let him test the waters. At least he gets an opportunity to see who’s willing to pony up, and the Ravens can match the offer if they so choose.

From a fans point of view I would love to see us sign him and still be able to put some quality players around him going forward.

We can barely put quality players around him on offense while he’s on his rookie deal

Yes. Also you're basically pretending like fractions don't exist. The world doesn't operate around whole numbers.

In any event, his tweet was clear and accurate. You just whiffed on reading it correctly. That's what the math says.

In this scenario, its pretty much a lose/lose for the Ravens though.
If he tests the market, then you let the market decide what the Ravens are going to pay him. That means that Lamar is basically negotiating a deal with another team, but the other team is handing the ball to the Ravens and telling them to pay exactly what they offered.
If the Ravens decline to pay him, they'll be settling for less than market value in a trade, because that would value Lamar at significantly less than what the Browns gave up for Watson.

So how does it benefit the Ravens to do this?
