Lamar Jackson

End of day, the discussion bores me.
The 1-3 week timetable was always the optimistic one. It wasn't the "industry standard" one. Multiple medical personnel made that conclusion the moment it happened.
3 week absence puts him back this week, and that's the optimistic part of the timeline. Realistically, coming back this week doesn't make a ton of sense, because the Ravens don't have much to play for this week. They're already in playoffs, can't win the division this week no matter what they do, and frankly can only lose it. And I'm not totally convinced they're concerned if they do, either.
Stack that with the fact that the Ravens know they can beat the Steelers without Lamar (because they already did less than a month ago), and him playing this week doesn't pass a lot of the IQ tests.

If Bengals clinch division this week, I highly doubt you'll see Lamar next week either. If he does play, we'd be measuring his playing time in series, not quarters. Basically a preseason game.

If, for some reason, he doesn't make it back for a playoff game, I'll be the first one to jump aboard the "I'm now long term concerned" train. Could be that his PCL injury is worse than we think and he can't make it back, but that'll be 6 weeks missed and I'd think most franchise QBs would basically play on one leg for a playoff game if they could. Then I'd have questions about whether he's protecting himself due to no long-term deal.

And as everybody's aware by now, at least 50% of the reason he doesn't have a long term deal falls squarely on his own shoulders.

I thought you loved discussion

Hmmm. This seems contradictory to those who ran with the story that Lamar has been skipping on rehab.

Lol it’s the same guy though. It’s odd that Preston said he was lazy then completely contradicted his own comments and put this out. It’s obvious his first set of comments are his true thoughts. The follow up ones I’m guessing we’re gun to your head…. Ravens front office?

Wasn’t trying to defend him, or saying he was “believable”. I would not be one to defend Preston as I’ve never liked his writing or style. I was merely trying to point out that folks were taking a tweet from some random person and blowing it into a factual statement without researching what had actually been said.
The best part about people giving you a hard time right now is that they are bashing Preston as unreliable( Lamar lazy rumors) while also using Preston’s latest comments( the Sun source saying he made every treatment) to prove their thoughts on Lamar true.

Garret nailed it.

It's more that he's saying something now that directly contradicts something that he was reporting a while back.

There is no way to confirm if Mikes original comments are true. I’m guessing they are probably half truths … i mean what 25 year old enjoys getting up early, eating healthy or regularly attending physical therapy?

But I would bet a pay check his contradiction was directly influenced by the Ravens . Hard to do your job well when your shut out

False. Many who responded don't give a shit what Preston says either way cause they're not listening to that idiot regardless. I just have a feeling had this been said about a previous QB he wouldn't be quoting it. But I get it. People have their favorites.

Because Tank doesn't like Lamar and so it added fuel to the fire for him.
classic confirmation bias
But your using the same source tank used to defend your point while bashing the credibility of the source.

Moral of the story: credibility only matters if you disagree with the source lol

Did you post on the original ravens boards?
A long time ago I dabbled in the Ravens boards and I used to love the ones CBS sports had .

Ok. This goes way back to those boards and the way certain posters would critique qb play and reports then to how they are now. Mike Preston has nothing to do with this... at least on 1 side if I had to guess.

Difference here being that this is a clear source directly from the Ravens in this case. Not some super secret source. A very intentional leak. Context matters.

Never read the sun growing up. Always had “ The Capital” in Annapolis so I don’t know much about Mike other than seeing the universal hate on Twitter
I don’t think many of us put much stock into it, like I said I think it’s half truths and I don’t think anything nefarious is going on Lamar.

Just getting a kick out of some of the pompous responses.

But I didn't need this new leak to know that what Preston said initially was BS and I posted as much prior. I find it funny that Preston is doing a complete 180, but the report that just came out isn't surprising at all.
