We did have the highest offer out to JuJu a couple of years back but he just straight up took less money because he didn't want to play in this offense.Examples please
I don't know if I'm that worried about the other divisional QB's; not Watson, anyway. I think he's a QB that we've sort of always had his number. Burrow? He doesn't scare me as much as Brady did. Maybe with time he will, idk. I think you defeat both of those guys with pressure, so it would not surprise me if we don't even draft a WR with 5 picks. I think we are looking for that an every down DLman of the Ngata mold. That is going to make the LB's better and THAT was our biggest weakness in games - middle of the field dink and dunks. Not sure with Roquan and the Safeties there that that shit's gonna be there anymore and by bolstering a DL to become disruptive, you make LB's more effective and versatile AND you take some of the pressure off the DEF backfield.Yeah it’s not that they’re afraid to come here, it’s more about $$ and putting themselves in the best opportunity to play at a high level.
The Ravens have been stuck in the old mantra in that if you want to succeed in the AFCN, you have to be dominant in the run game and on defense. That has been our identity for years, maybe since 2000. With QB’s like Burrow and Watson now in this division we need to evolve.
Year 4 is not halfway through a rookie deal. Year 4 is the end of the rookie deal and the last year where you can get top dollar in a trade if that is the route you are going and honestly Hollywood for a 1 is worth more than paying him 20m+ for what he has done. The only way it could have gone better is if the Ravens had managed to trade a late round pick for Cooper as well but alas that probably would have telegraphed the Brown trade and nuked his value. You cant both be drafting a position with multiple 1s and be paying those positions top dollar as well without having multiple holes elsewhere. They've been bottom 5 in spending every year of Jackson's reign. You can talk draft all you want, but if you can't develop the guys and trade away your guys halfway through their rookie deals you obviously don't value that spot.
You won't pay for other guys, won't pay for your in house guys so you trade them. Then last year made the most egregious inaction with respect to that room.
Lots of room for improvement on both sides of the ball. I would love to see a dominant interior DL and maybe some help on the edge. We were decent against the run but not so much against the pass. Mostly because of lack of pressure IMO. On offense, everything revolves around the Lamar situation right now. Until that gets settled it’s hard to know how this offense will look this year.I don't know if I'm that worried about the other divisional QB's; not Watson, anyway. We are not going to suddenly become a throwing team. We are built to run on OFF. I've got no problem with that, especially considering that if Lamar doesn't return, asking anybody not named Lamar to hand it off 5 of 7 turns is fine with me.

This was the main one I was thinking of, and I highly doubt we just never put in competitive offers on other WRs. FA WRs did not want to play for us.We did have the highest offer out to JuJu a couple of years back but he just straight up took less money because he didn't want to play in this offense.
they tried to draft a wr in the first round and the fourth round. There were reports that they tried to trade for one as well.Examples please
Isn't it just as possible that we didn't value them as highly as they valued themselves? For goodness sakes, they are going to take the most money. The press doesn't know the real figures, so assuming from click-bait articles that WR's don't value playing in Baltimore is just not smart. Would they like to win a SB? Playing with a generational QB? JuJu picked the other generational QB with a team that had a better track record. That's pretty simple. This was the main one I was thinking of, and I highly doubt we just never put in competitive offers on other WRs. FA WRs did not want to play for us.
Not good enough, particularly when you know months in advance you are trading your best receiver.they tried to draft a wr in the first round and the fourth round. There were reports that they tried to trade for one as well.

Dude, you respond too quickly. Is Mahommes a generational QB? And, he's more successful than the one we have. No wonder JuJu would pick there. And look where they are. He made the right call for all the reasons I stated. He just didn't pick us. That doesn't mean we weren't aggressive or didn't try to get him hard enough.other? you mean one of the other generational QBs?
well that first pick was going to be a wr, but i'm very happy we ended up with HamiltonNot good enough, particularly when you know months in advance you are trading your best receiver.
So in 2021 he chose the Steelers, his own team to go back to. Why? Well, the Ravens were basically offering him a #3 or #4 spot. He was a #2 or #3 with the Steelers, knew the QB, and the system. He took that offer to try to show off better in a situation of comfort. Come on. And with one or two TE's that would come before him here too? He was looking to showcase and get a big contract off of whatever he did that year and he thought that was his best chance. This was the main one I was thinking of, and I highly doubt we just never put in competitive offers on other WRs. And the year that everyone is really referring to is when he chose to go back to Pittsburgh for Ben's last year. Another generational QB in a system he knew and was likely the #2 or 3 target. Here, he might have made more, but he would have been the 4th or 5th or 6th target. He chose to go back to what he knew to showcase. It had little to nothing to do with the Ravens not valuing WR's properly... imo.I never said that. If I was a receiver I would want to go there, too
Yeah, I sometimes reply really fast, but then there are times where I don't reply for daysAnd the year that everyone is really referring to is when he chose to go back to Pittsburgh for Ben's last year. I jumped to respond pretty quick there myself...![]()

There was also Kenny Golladay's bum ass. In actuality, he was never really "interested" in us, but used us as leverage for the Giants to give him more money. This was the main one I was thinking of, and I highly doubt we just never put in competitive offers on other WRs. I know he isn't a WR, but Bobby Wagner did some similar shit to us. At the end, he chose the Rams to play the Hawks twice.
Well that and it didn't end well between him and Pete Carroll/Hawks FO regarding contract negotiations from what I recall.Wagner chose the Rams because he’s from LA
