Lamar Jackson

I've thought about this a lot and I think that teams probably were never going to even try and negotiate with Lamar until after the draft. Think about it.

Firstly, why commit to Lamar right now without seeing how the draft board falls. Maybe AR15 at pick number 10 or something is far more palatable.

Secondly, with Lamar on your team your draft pick next year is definitely going to be lower than this year so wait till after the draft, get your guy that could help your team with Lamar this year and give up less meaningful capital starting next year.

Finally, teams probably didn't expect the nonexclusive and were likely not financially set up for a Lamar immediately. So the barrier is quite high in many different ways to get him.

I'm not saying it will happen by any means, but I'd not be surprised if someone potentially made an offer after the draft dust settles
The reason why after the draft has always been a hard sell is for monetary reasons. The Ravens have $32M on their cap with the ability to make more room. Another team would have to pitch something the Ravens couldn’t match and that’s almost out of the question at this point. Not one team out there has held enough cap open that we couldn’t match.

I mean, wins aren't a QB stat. The Chargers are often injury riddled, working with subpar weapons on offense, and some really bad OCs in recent history. Not saying Herbert is on the level of Mahomes or Burrow, but he's probably the only reason they've been competitive in many of their games. He's definitely top ten in the league.
They arent a qb stat until you watch his games and notice that majority of his ints come in 2nd half, therefore he fking that money up

For sure. I totally thought about that. But it doesn't really hurt any team to offer. They don't currently have him and if they offer and we match nothing is different outside some of their GMs time.

But I'm sure there are plenty of people skeptical the Ravens aren't interested in moving on (not fearing a match). Or are taking Jackson's trade request seriously.

Literally having 3 accounts that are all the same person and making trades with himself in the forum mock lmao

LOL!

Ain’t no way someone went that deep into a forum mock draft. We need someone to track down his IP. This is a big allegation! A man’s reputation is all he has!!!

Nah you just don’t like opinions you don’t agree with.
You really just don’t want people to post comments you don’t agree with.
Pretty pathetic.
I told myself I wasn’t going to engage with you but I don’t think I can bite my tongue anymore. At least @gtalk12 is a well respected member here and contributes healthy dialogue unlike you who posts clickbait bullshit about Lamar while constantly talking shit about him even though he’s your “favorite Raven” (literally your own words). And when you don’t like someone’s rebuttal, you tell them to suck Lamar’s d. You’re doing all of this as a 60 something year old man. Now that’s pathetic

What's everyone's best guess on the Lamar question?

Are both sides ready to move on?
Is Lamar done with the Ravens? Are they done with him?

For me, I'm presuming the Ravens still want Lamar long term because he's by miles their best chance of success over the next 4-5 years and I don't think teams plan any further than that.

As for Lamar, I've no idea if he's still open to returning or not.

I don’t think Lamar is staying in Baltimore. I’m kind of thinking there might be a handshake deal between Lamar, the Ravens and another team for a trade either before or during the first round of this year’s draft. I just can’t see him as a Raven anymore after the press conference drama a few days ago. It’s just not looking good at all in my opinion

I dnt see the hype in herbert and never have.. big arm who throws for a lot of yards… hasnt done anything and always throws ints in 2nd half of football.. havent showed he is a winner at all.
A friend mentioned to me earlier in the season Herbert wasn't clutch and that Jags game was just the icing on the cake.

Another fool who can’t stand it when someone disagrees with him.

I never heard so much crying . Pathetic.

Here’s another dude that won’t be a Ravens fan when Lamar leaves.

Makes a lot of sense, especially if you’re a player or two + QB away from being super competitive. Might as well save that lower pick this year to score a quality player

Lamar’s done with Harbaugh.

Steve Biscotti loves Harbaugh.

That’s the problem.

per sources.

which lamar would have to accept or the ravens just match it

which means that if a team wants lamar, they're going to have to actually trade for him to incentivise the ravens not to match... that's gonna be more than 2 1st rounders (otherwise why would the ravens do it)

only way the ravens let a team get lamar via an offer sheet is if the relationship is too broken and we already traded up and got our guy on draft night
