The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - Jags edition

Yes, fans. Plural. As in collectively. Did he tell millions of fans to eat a dick, or just one or a couple?
Also are we sure this person was an actual customer and not just somebody looking to troll on Twitter? I mean there's no shortage of "fans" who don't watch games and contribute $0 monetarily to the product.

Same can be said in any line of work. Just because you cuss out someone, tell them to piss off, doesn’t mean you’re cussing out all customers. And even if the guy isn’t a fan you can liken it to someone coming in who doesn’t like your place of work. Even if you cuss out just one customer, there are businesses who will discipline you or even fire you for it. But I often forget how above societal norms and expectations football players are

And I also think a lot of you are missing another point. Other people will rag on Lamar even more now because they saw how much it got to him. They smelled blood and will come after it far more now in hopes of drawing a response

I noticed they were making it a point to show Roman in the press box calling plays and also showing the play clock. Plays were generally done being relayed to Lamar at 26 to 32 seconds left on the play clock. Never paid attention before so I don't know if this is average, early or late.
Roman calls two plays per huddle. He wants an audible to be present. He's likely calling numbers for the routes and Lamar is reading the play in its entirety.

I don't think this is a Lamar issue that you're alluding to it being.

And there are some that won't. Is a strip club or bar disciplining staff for throwing out customers, cutting them off, etc.? It's literally the norm to do so. They don't give a shit if that customer ever comes back. In fact, they'd prefer they didn't. There's no "one size fits all" approach to customer service in any business or industry. It varies dramatically.

I wouldn't have done what he did, because yes, its a waste of Lamar's time. He shouldn't give one shit about what fans think of him, because they don't sign his checks or help him win games. I also think people already knew how thin-skinned he's been in the past based on some of his other tweets. But I agree its the perfect example of the downside of social media for celebrities and athletes.

But end of day, its meaningless. Nothing's going to happen to him, other than some troll gets their 15 mins of fame.

Hilarious how you guys defend Lamar no matter what. I have a little experiment for you guys today. Try saying exactly what he said on twitter to a customer or a business partner and see how it goes for ya. Report your results back here after you’re fired.
Here's an experiment... let's follow you around at work with cameras and mics. Not just while you're working but meetings too. Then when you're not working have all your social media followed as well while random people approach you in the street pointing out you're bad days at work and asking you why you sucked that day. Hell, let's also appoint you a role model cause the children. Report your results back...

And remember there's already records here of things you've said so I'm sure you'd be more level headed under more scrutiny. Take that shit somewhere else

Harbs confirmed "they" have to get the plays in quicker. We just don't know who "they" are. I'd assume coaching staff, but its also possible Lamar isn't relaying those calls to the players quick enough either.

We already know with 15 seconds left on play clock Lamar can't hear anything from coaches, so it's just a question of how quick those calls are coming in and how quick he's relaying to players.

I’m not an NFL player so none of this applies. Thank you though for the meaningless project

I stopped reading when you compared an NFL player to a stripper or bartender lmao

Make sure you give him say $40m or so to make the experiment more realistic.

Lamar just needs to ignore that shit, he's got nothing to gain from it.

This place becomes a cess pool in here every time we lose. I don't get it. What is everyone's fucking tunnel vision on one thing. There's no one thing. This team is generally generally in the 60 or 70th percentile in the league. It will win more games than it loses, but it's not very good.

Notes for next season:
1) Maybe the GM should actually adress the WR position
2) Lamar needs to continue work on the deep ball
3) Everyone on the entire roster should learn to catch uncontested passes
4) Maybe your running backs shouldn't fumble every 4th quarter
5) Maybe your offensive line shouldn't be a penalty machine
6) Maybe your play calls shouldn't be so fucking complicated you're almost always in a delay of game situation
7) Maybe you shouldn't have your entire CB room die like it does every year. Fuller and JAD are done and Peters died in a different way by not receiving from his injury to play well enough.
8) Maybe you shouldn't call a soft ass defense and let 4 teams who are theoretically worse than you beat you by overcoming a 2 score lead in the 4th quarter FOUR TIMES.
9) Maybe your 1st round pass rusher should have any impact of any kind at any point during the entire season.
10) Maybe you shouldn't for the 3rd time hurt Ronnie Stanley because your RT fucks up and gets Lamar blasted into Ronnie.
11) Maybe your defense should EVEN OCCASIONALLY should stop inferior teams from converting 3rd and 4th and longs. Especially in the 4th quarter.

I could go on forever. But this dumbass narrative that oh is this the peak of Lamar's passing? Oh GRo is single handedly ruining Lamar's career etc etc. It's like wtf are you out here watching?

All I see is week in and week out is a cacophony of totally undisciplined football on offense and defense. And despite the fact that the team plays like total shit, we'll below its capabilities, Lamar almost always finds a way to pretty much singlehandedly keep you in or win you the game. I've never seen a player like that.

Some news organizations are already representing Lamar's tweet as an anti-gay slur.

I knew this was not going to be good going forward.

I think most people stopped reading when you compared an NFL player to "any other business".
I'd put you at a Marcus Peters-level competency level this morning. I'll let you decide whether that's good or bad.

Yet you compared his to job to regular work... so what is it?

It's probably responses like this why people call you a troll.

I’m a troll for having different beliefs and then apologizing for said beliefs when I’m proven wrong. Who are the real trolls in that case

Agree that, yesterday, there's about a half dozen plays from a half dozen different people that, if gone differently, can easily change the outcome of the game in our favor. Some of its coaching, some of its poor execution by guys not doing their job.
Both have been themes all year.

I hadn’t even gave any thought to the anti-gay slander being thrown his way by media outlets. Hopefully the major news stations don’t give that any attention because if they do, this is going to be a huge huge mess
