The Ugly, The Ugly and The Win I Guess???

Also for the Odafe Oweh isn't trash crowd, here are his snap counts over the year.

Obviously it's the case his snaps were always gonna decrease as the room filled out, but 17 perfectly healthy snaps is really really really low. For reference as a rookie, his low was 30. 17 is practically half the low of his rookie year.

And all that being said this was the game he got a sack lol
So its certainly declining.
The raw snaps doesn't really matter, because it has no context. % of snaps is better, which he was at 32%. He was at 40% prior two weeks.

What I would guess is that he's not going to play a ton in run-heavy gameplans, which showed up yesterday and against Carolina. And I certainly think he's more effective as a situational rusher, i.e. playing closer to like 50-60%, which is what he was doing in the middle of the season.

But does seem like they favor Houston and Bowser (who's been playing great). Even JPP, who made a couple solid plays yesterday, didn't play a lot more than Oweh.

I don't think anybody would deny that Oweh isn't being outplayed by players on this roster currently, because he is. Just that he's not a total failure like some people think he is.

One other notable from the snap count list is that they clearly view Hamilton as the SCB, and don't plan on playing Stephens much in that role at all. ArDarius Washington got 8 snaps on defense. Stephens got 1. Pepe didn't get any. They clearly didn't play much Nickel or Dime yesterday because of the opponent, but there doesn't appear to be a lot of faith in these young Corners at the moment.

Also, I'm borderline excited to see what they do defensively in the next week or two. I think Marcus Williams may play this week (or against Cleveland), and with Queen likely to miss a little time, it makes things interesting. On the surface, pushing Stone back to the bench might just be the likely outcome, but I suppose they could try to move Clark down into the box more and play in a role similar to Queen's, and let Stone and Williams handle Safety role. Doesn't seem likely they'll move Hamilton off SCB.

Also if Queen and potentially Welch are out, would potentially open up spot for Ojabo for Sunday also. Suspect we'll see a lot more Nickel and Dime against Pittsburgh than what we've seen against Denver/Carolina.

Was just going to point this out

Pepe was inactive.

You a bozo for sticking around to boo Roman.

Shit is weird. Defending that kind of behavior simply because Roman makes money is the dumbest shit on the planet.

You stayed 3+ hours to watch this piss poor offense.. what’s another 20 minutes to boo the guy responsible for it? It is what it is

Sure. People with no life and no prospects can justify anything they want to anybody.
This kid ain't even good at trolling. His best trolling attempts were "get a promotion".

It’s sports. If he wanna boo the dude for performance, I mean.. that kind of goes with the gig lol. Iunno why people getting so worked up over it. But I’m known here as the anti Harbs/Gro guy. So my opinion might be a little biased

Because a bunch of softies don't like it

Lol. We all see he’s sucking. His offense was stale and lack excitement from the very first drive yesterday.. yet “let’s not boo him.”

Okay.

So painful to see us draft this guy with no sacks in college, talk ourselves into him based his freak athleticism , and then watch him not be able to sack the Qb in the NFL.

For this offseason:
1. I'm still not caving to the Watson-level contract demands (if that's what Lamar is asking for). If he won't move off it, franchise tag it is.
2. I think Roman is going to have to be gone one way or another. Hopefully he takes the Stanford job so that everybody "saves face", but pending some offensive surge here in the last month, we can't run it back with him. It just seems like the best we've seen from him on this team is in the past, not in the future.
3. They need to add a couple playmakers on offense. Don't really care if that's a playmaking RB with another WR, or two WRs. But it's becoming pretty clear to everybody that our personnel at WR and, this year, at RB, isn't good enough. I'll be the first to say RBs are a dime a dozen, but Edwards has no burst left it seems, Drake is just a total JAG in this league, and we can't expect anything remotely resembling "return to form" from Dobbins.
if we want to extend Roquan Smith, it will be downright impossible to franchise tag Lamar.

Eh, athleticism and traits does mean a lot more than college production. Trying to take guys that are already technically proficient or based on high numbers usually ends up with us having a bunch of jags.

We had the guy with the record for most sacks in a season in college and he did nothing for us.
