Problem is you have to be drafted there to be considered a top ten talent. He wasnt , and isn’t a top ten talent. He was a second round pick for a forward thinking organization hoping he can recover from a brutal injury. The injury happened no matter how much we try to discount it. He may be an amazing player, he also may never regain the form that had scouts raving. Let’s not pretend we have a crystal ball and crown EDC yet. On the flip side , Pickens would have had an immediate and needed impact

Except every single team in the NFL would have taken him top 10 without the injury so yes you get to factor it in and it is why he fell to the second round but the talent is absolutely top 10 so yes that makes a top 10 talent. To be a top 10 pick you have to be picked in the top 10, to be a top 10 talent you just have to have the talent to be there and then either you are picked there or there is a problem with you, in this case the injury.

The "why didnt we draft player x" is simply trying to act as though we have the benefit of hindsight and asking why we did not do that thing that seems obvious now. For instance why not Draft Deebo or Metcalf or AJ Brown instead of Hollywood? I could do that exact same thing for just about every single team. You take the best talent you can find and if top 10 talent fall to you in the second round you take it because the risk is worth it.
