2023 Baltimore Orioles

O's are pretty good
Pitching is the only thing they need to work on. Being up 5-0 and allowing them to comeback and tie it is not going to fly in the playoffs. I'm not expecting them to win it all but if the O's want to go far, they have to fix the relief pitching.

It sure seems like 2023 could be the year of Baltimore sports! Two teams winning their respective national championships...
#SIIE!!!

Out of town for a long weekend, but watched all the games. Looked great. It seems like a lot of commentators who were uncertain about our young guys have come around a lot lately. MLB has them at #2 in the Power Rankings - which isn't strange, altho they 've looked better than the Rays for almost the last full month and this is the first time in the second slot. In the old days we'd say, "Number two with a bullet!" One other interesting thing is that all AL East teams are in the top 14. That's crazy to me.

I leave for Toronto next Monday morning and plan on going to at least 3 of the 4 games against the Blue Jays while I'm there. I do want to leave one night open so I can do other stuff while I'm there. Will definitely make plans to go to a playoff game at Camden Yards in October too. Hyped!

A game we should have won if Hyde would have stopped giving Bautista the night off. Also get rid of Mateo before the postseason.

He can't pitch every night, and we need to make sure he's not over used before the playoffs

Cano got ball-called on a few pitches that had been strikes. Can't win them all, but Cano scares the crap outta me. Fuji might wind up being the better setup guy going forward. I thought they should have kept him in for the 9th. Mateo's double clutch was the sealer. Gotta make that play.

Sucky loss, but can't expect to win all of the 1 run games. The bats need to wake up and score some runs, leaving the bases loaded with 0 outs early on was painful.

What happened to Gunnar? I heard Ben say he left with lower back pain? Hopefully that's just a short term thing.

Right now Hyde is a leading candidate for Manager of the Year, don’t think it makes sense to second guess any of his decisions. The WS is never won in July, but it can certainly be lost in July.

Jorge has hit a rough patch, but is still a key player. He’ll work through it and be fine.

Man I hope this back thing isn’t an ongoing issue with Gunnar, he’s really a special talent.

There isn't a much sweeter way to beat the Skanks!

And honestly, the super black unis don't bother me as much as they did. :) I just wish they'd change the blocky Baltimore to a different font and wear the black dome cartoon bird hat with the orange rim. Gotta keep the cartoon bird going. ;) Or maybe the same hat with the new B, but in orange... Dr. Fashion, out. :)

Well...

Wells is officially struggling. We really need a boost by some decent work when Means returns, which is still scheduled for early August. Can't come soon enough, but you gotta believe there is a trade deadline deal coming for a number 2 or marginal number one starter coming. Maybe a middle reliever with some control. Who knows.

Hopefully the bats will begin to wake up a little more too.

Yeah, Wells looked scared shitless, no confidence. We haven't hit very well since the break, gotta shake it.

From what I've read Means probably won't reach us until September, the back muscle thing set him back a few. Not sure at who, but I'm sure Elias is looking hard.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember September being the date for Means' return. Ugh. Still more reason to suspect a move in the pitching dept.

edit... Irvin was bad last night too.
